    Since this week, I have been having a problem logging into my self-hosted website using the WordPress iOS app. When I enter the site URL, I get a login screen. I enter my details here, and then I am asked to generate an app password. When I do this, I get the error “site details cannot be loaded in wordpress”. I have checked everything, such as the xmlrpc and the json, but everything is accessible. Therefore, I am unable to log in normally.

    If I pair my Jetpack, it works. If I then unpair the site and add it to the app via another method, I am able to pair the site because I don’t get a prompt for the app password. Is this a bug in the app, or is there something wrong with my site? I have also deactivated all plugins, but nothing helps.

    What you’re experiencing appears to be related to a newer authentication flow (application passwords) being rolled out for self-hosted site connections in the iOS app. The team is actively working on this, and there are some known edge cases still being ironed out.
