22$\begingroup$ I find that chucking stars at other stars tends to work, although it's incredibly difficult for most civilizations. $\endgroup$HDE 226868– HDE 226868 ♦2016-02-16 22:44:24 +00:00Commented Feb 16, 2016 at 22:44

13$\begingroup$ Welcome to the site! Good first question. You are right that nukes wouldn't harm a star since they are essentially massive nukes themselves. If it were me, I'd create a wormhole between the target star and a far more massive star to deplete its fuel until it no longer had enough to sustain a nuclear reaction. But that's just me. $\endgroup$IchabodE– IchabodE2016-02-16 22:58:27 +00:00Commented Feb 16, 2016 at 22:58

$\begingroup$ Related: How can I destroy a gas giant planet? (might even be a duplicate, given that the only real difference is the size of the celestial body involved) and to a slightly lesser degree The opposite to Worldbuilding: World Destruction. $\endgroup$user– user2016-02-17 09:28:25 +00:00Commented Feb 17, 2016 at 9:28

How to Tag
A tag is a keyword or label that categorizes your question with other, similar questions. Choose one or more (up to 5) tags that will help answerers to find and interpret your question.
- complete the sentence: my question is about...
- use tags that describe things or concepts that are essential, not incidental to your question
- favor using existing popular tags
- read the descriptions that appear below the tag
If your question is primarily about a topic for which you can't find a tag:
- combine multiple words into single-words with hyphens (e.g. science-based), up to a maximum of 35 characters
- creating new tags is a privilege; if you can't yet create a tag you need, then post this question without it, then ask the community to create it for you
