$\begingroup$ As regards getting into the "weeds" of population density and irrigation, I think you are right, but I would add that this is the setting for a war game campaign on a desert world so irrigation and population may be of more interest than they would be otherwise in works of fiction. I just want to get the numbers roughly right :o) $\endgroup$
