Instalments by Barclays is a financing option offered by Barclays for purchases over £100 that lets you spread the cost over fixed instalment amounts. After adding eligible items to the cart, change the payment method to Instalments by Barclays and click "Continue with Application." You will be redirected to a Barclays application form to enter your personal information and the bank account you'd like Barclays to use for the instalment payments. If your request is rejected by Barclays, you can place the order again by selecting a different payment method. If accepted for Instalments by Barclays, you can make repeat purchases with your instalments account without needing to reapply, and have multiple plans as long as you remain within your credit limit and monthly payment limit. As you pay off your plans, you’ll ‘free up’ credit, which you can then spend again.

You can choose to pay for your purchase over 3 to 48 months, depending on the size of your basket and product purchased. The minimum monthly instalment is £15.

Barclays will ask you to provide or confirm some details about your financial situation. They'll use this information to calculate your personal credit limit and monthly payment limit and decide if the repayments will be affordable for you. Your credit limit is the most you can spend in total with your instalments account. Your monthly payment limit is the total amount your monthly payments can add up to across all of your instalment plans. To calculate your monthly payments, Barclays take the amount you borrowed, add the total interest due over the length of your plan, and divide it by the number of payments you’ve agreed to. If you have more than one instalment plan, your monthly payments will be taken as one combined monthly payment from the account your Direct Debit comes out of.

If your instalments application is accepted, you will see this option in your payment methods. For future orders over £100, you can use your Instalments account. You can have more than one instalment plan under your account, as long as you stay within your credit limit and monthly payments limit. As you add more plans, your monthly payment will increase, and as you pay off your plans you’ll “free up” credit, which you can then spend again. You can see how much credit you have available in your Instalments account by using the Barclays App.

If you already have an existing plan, the rate of interest is fixed so the amount you need to repay will not change.
