Extremely Disappointed
Purchased this as a Christmas gift for my wife. She had done some research and decided in the Henckel brand as an upgrade to our old knife set. She did not open the box until this spring as we knew we were moving. She wanted to put them out for showing our house and start with new knives in our new home. They are terrible looking. The handles have a white residue on them. Some look like they were used and have rust spots! They are fresh from the box, each in a in their own cardboard and then, plastic sleeve. Our 15 yo Chicago Cutlery set puts this set to shame. They have a Lifetime Warranty as seen in photo 3 and we emailed them through their site. We haven’t and received any response. Neither a “we received your email and will get back to you” or any other response. I have not tried the phone number, yet. Wouldn’t be such a bummer had the Amazon return window closed a few days before the box was opened. Unusable $100 knife set. Or I should say, if we can polish the blades back to usable, clean the handles, the block will still look chipped up, the handles will still look cheap and it will be $25 knife set at best.
