- Reviewed in the United States on July 4, 2012Wow!!! The World Hockey Association Fact Book is a wonderful book, It brings back lots of great memories. I got into hockey around 1970 and became a huge kings fan (I also starting playing in the early 70s). I was influenced by having a Hockey Player who lived by by grandparents in the 1960s in Redondo Beach Calif, His name was Willie O'Ree. He played for the L.A. Blades (a minor league team) at the time, who moved out in the late 60, and he also played in the NHL for the Boston Burins (breaking the color line in the NHL). He became a friend of our family and my grandparents were the Godparents of his second child. I liked the L.A. Sharks but then they moved away after two seasons. So when the New York/New Jersey Team moved to San Diego and became the Mariners, I become a fan of theres. I wodl listen to them on the radio all the time, They had a great play by play man named Roy Story (He did the Kings very early, before the Great Bob Miller was there). Roy had a unique voice and he would sat things like Shot on Goal, He scoreeeeeeess!!! and drag it out (or Andre Lacroix He shoot he scoresssssssss!!!). He also use to say and the Puck is wrapped around the boardbbbbbbbbs...and the puck is Frozzzzzzzzenn!! and drag it out (thus the title of my review). I really loved the WHA it was a high scorning wild, underdog, and fun league, which also had a allot of superstars in it, Gordie Howe, Bobby Hull, Gary Cheevers, a Young Wayne Gretzey, etc., This book has a nice short History of the WHA, All the states for every year and totals, Just about a picture of every player who ever played in the WHA, Fun side stories such as how the Charleston Chiefs were based on a real story (based on the 1974 Johnstown Jets); And finally how the League merged onto the NHL. I always argued that the WHA had allot of influence on changing the game in the NHL it became a much more offensive league after the merger. The World Hockey Association Fact Book is a great fun book filled with information, and I highly recommend it.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 4, 2020Very good and informative book based on the short history of the now defunct World Hockey Association. Brings back a lot of memories from my youth. I loved the WHA!
- Reviewed in the United States on September 19, 2013This book is everything a WHA fan wants to know about a gone but important hockey league. If one wants to see photos this is not the right choice but it gives a very good statistical review of the league and much information.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 8, 2018Nice source for hard-to-find rosters and stats.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 18, 2012Very well written and researched. Enjoyed the team by team histories. Also enjoyed the section on how the WHA was formed and what inspired its creation. I would recommend it for any hockey historian such as myself.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great book about WHA at it's best and worst
Great book. Not only loaded with lots of facts and stats, but also lots of funny info about the WHA. Both good and bad. You get to know the most, about the short-lived life of WHA. And I can tell you, it's boring at all. If you, like me, like to know the most about hockey, buy this one.
