In 2021, DraftKings came to the Arbor Day Foundation with a bold idea to plant one million trees within a year. Their dedication led them to not only achieve this milestone but surpass it, inspiring them to grow their relationship with the Arbor Day Foundation and maximize their impact.

For DraftKings, that included leveraging trees to shape a cohesive approach to protecting the planet. Rather than treating employee engagement, community investment, and large-scale sustainability initiatives as three separate boxes to check, the Arbor Day Foundation helped DraftKings weave them together into a single, scalable, science-backed initiative.
WHERE WE PLANT TOGETHER
DraftKings has supported a range of Arbor Day Foundation projects that spanned landscapes, climates, and cultures. Some included large-scale reforestation, others focused on community canopies. All were designed to address the unique needs of the planting location.

GLOBAL REACH
Across 9 countries, DraftKings has supported 27 large-scale reforestation projects and planted more than 1 million trees as a result. This work has helped bring new life to degraded forestlands, strengthen biodiversity, and help communities recover from climate-related challenges. By investing in restoration at this scale, DraftKings helps ensure that the benefits of healthy forests are felt both near the planting site and across the planet.
LOCAL IMPACT
DraftKings brings tree planting directly to its employees through hands-on community events across four countries and more than a dozen cities. From Las Vegas to London, and from Boston to Plovdiv, more than 900 volunteers have stepped outside the office and into their neighborhoods — planting close to 10,000 trees and benefitting over 120,000 community members in the spaces that they call home. These trees will help cool heat-vulnerable neighborhoods, enhance recreational spaces, and strengthen community resilience.

Whether restoring forests on a global scale or planting trees in local parks, DraftKings is committed to creating benefits that last. The trees and forests nurtured through these projects will continue to clean the air, shelter wildlife, and protect communities for decades to come.
