PANSTARRS projections
Allen Hwang from Deming, New Mexico
Comet 2025 R3 PANSTARRS climbs through the glow of morning twilight sporting a tail well over 2° long in this view (and running out of frame), captured March 28, 2026, between 5:30 and 5:50 a.m. local time. If projections hold — never a guarantee with comets — C/2025 R3 could be a nice binocular comet for northern observers in mid to late April. The imager used an 11-inch Celestron RASA scope to take 20 minutes of 30-second exposures with a one-shot color camera.
