Mac and Cheese
Makes 6 to 8 servings
This mac and cheese goes from your air fryer straight to your kitchen table.
Ingredients
- Butter, for the pan
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened and cut into 8 pieces
- 2 cups whole milk
- ½ teaspoon Dijon mustard
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt, more as needed
- Pinch freshly ground black pepper
- ½ teaspoon Buffalo sauce
- 8 ounces shredded cheese, preferably a mix of Monterey Jack and Cheddar
- 1 pound elbow macaroni, cooked
- ¼ cup plain panko breadcrumbs
- Vegetable oil, for spraying
Preparation
- Butter the glass air fryer basket. Add the cream cheese, milk, mustard, salt, and pepper.
- Put the basket into the air fryer. Set to Air Fry at 350°F for 15 minutes, and then press Start. When the Toss Reminder sounds, stir the mixture well and then return to finish cooking.
- At the end of cooking time, add the Buffalo sauce and shredded cheese. Stir well. Return to the air fryer. Set to Air Fry at 350°F for an additional 10 minutes, and then press Start.
- At the end of cooking time, stir the cheese sauce well, then fold in the macaroni. Top with breadcrumbs and spray with oil. Set to Air Fry at 450°F for 5 minutes, and then press Start.
- Remove the basket from the air fryer. Let the macaroni and cheese rest for a few minutes before serving.
