Julia Fox's Inappropriate Coachella Outfit Had Heads Turning

Like Woodstock before it, Coachella has cemented itself into pop culture not just as a music festival but also as a style aesthetic. After years of celebrities venturing into the desert sporting all manner of 'Gram-worthy looks, complete with fringe, cowgirl hats, boho skirts, mini denim, and the enduring floral headbands, we now know exactly what to think when someone says the words "Coachella outfit." And yet, some stars still surprise us. During the festival's first weekend in 2025, actor and model Julia Fox turned heads in a truly eyebrow-raising look that had her derrière on full display.

The "Uncut Gems" star attended the invite-only Revolve Festival at Coachella, for which she donned a lingerie-like leather corset and matching chaps, but without the obvious underwear that normally goes with this classic ensemble. Instead, she wore tan-colored tights and a barely visible thong, making it seem that she was wearing nothing at all down below. In true 2025 style, Fox kept the look tonally brown and beige, and she finished it off with slouchy, knee-high suede boots, futuristic sunglasses with tinged lenses, and a leather shrug. Altogether, the ensemble absolutely counts as one of Julia Fox's riskiest outfits. "Saw you in real life and GODDESS ENERGY," one person commented on Fox's Instagram post from the event. While many of her comments were nice, some wondered where the line is in fashion. "Can you buy some class??" one person wrote.

Regardless of any pushback, Fox teamed the daring 'fit with a slicked-back bob that we've seen on the likes of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West's current wife, Bianca Censori. Fox previously dated the controversial rapper in 2022 for a month, but the mother-of-one insists that her style has nothing to do with her ex or even the male gaze in general. 

While Julia Fox's 2025 Coachella look is making headlines, it's hardly the first time the "Idiotka" actor has opted for an outfit that pushed fashion boundaries. Since she blasted onto the scene in 2019, Fox has been expressing her individuality through her personal style, which is anything but boring. Back in 2022, she hinted at her future forays into cheeky fashion when she appeared out and about in New York City sporting low-rise bumster pants. In September that year, she also rocked a nearly naked minidress at the Bazaar Icons Party (which certainly counts as one of the most iconic celebrity naked dress moments), and went with a risqué "bralaclava" for Milan Fashion Week. The following year, among other out-there 'fits, she was spotted in a top made out of belts, a microbra made out of seashells, a transparent chest piece, and a sheer bandeau that left little to the imagination. Fast-forward to 2024, and the star chose to attend a basketball game in a white singlet and underwear, which she paired with a yellow fur coat and a bold yellow wig.

"I dress for the girls and the gays for sure, and me a little bit," Fox said on the "Zach Sang Show" in 2024. "I'm the artist but I'm also the canvas." She explained that she followed conventional fashion standards for a long time, with her sole desire being to "look hot" and gain the approval of men. Fox even likened her old, less daring style to a uniform. "Now that I'm free of that, I just play around and I have so much fun," she went on. Clearly, Fox had a ball at Coachella, confirming in an Instagram post from the day that she had "the time of her life." It may have seemed like a big deal to the world, but the corset-and-chaps combo was just another milestone in Julia Fox's style transformation.
