The IEEE Geoscience and Remote Sensing Magazine is presently a quarterly publication but will be going to six issues per year in 2026, that informs readers of activities in the IEEE GRS Society, its technical committees and chapters.
This journal circulates information about the Society’s activities to every member and educates readers with various levels of understanding new trends in the field of interest of the Society. Therefore, it has a much broader readership than those addressed by technical publications. In other words, the GRSM target readership is the whole “community of communities” that forms the GRSS.
GRSM also informs and educates readers via regular papers that are reviews, summaries and tutorials. In addition, it provides information on international remote sensing activities and new satellite missions, publishes contributions on education activities, industrial and university profiles, conference news, and book reviews.
It publishes technical papers when they are included in special issues and will have a special issue every other issue for the future. Regular papers will continue to be reviews, summaries or tutorials.
The magazine is also included in Thomson Reuter’s products and services. All issues, beginning with Volume 1, Number 1, 2013, are indexed and abstracted in the following products:
• Science Citation Index Expanded (also known as SciSearch®)
• Journal Citation Reports/Science Edition
• Current Contents®/Physical Chemical and Earth Sciences
• Current Contents®/Engineering Computing and Technology
