It's always a smart idea to keep an extra roll of toilet paper within easy reach for quick and convenient restocks. But, with this simple solution, you don't have to worry about making your way to a storage closet or cabinet after you discover you need a new roll. The problem, though, is that an exposed roll of toilet paper left out on the back of your toilet or on your countertop takes away from the visual appeal of your bathroom.

Thankfully, you can DIY a chic toilet paper holder using repurposed Dollar Tree items to hide the roll in plain sight. All you have to do is cut the Synthetic Leather into a circle, poke holes all around the outside of the fabric with one of the Single-Hole Punches, and string White Ribbon through the holes. You can then pull the ribbon tight to cinch the fabric, which will create a bag that is the perfect size to hold a single roll of toilet paper.

This chic DIY toilet paper holder would look stunning out on a bathroom countertop or sitting on the back of a toilet as is. However, you could also add more personality to the design by stringing ribbon with a fun pattern through the holes or using jute rope in place of it. Additionally, you could also tie decorative charms onto the end of the ribbon or rope to really elevate and personalize this clever DIY toilet paper storage solution.

How to create this leather toilet paper holder

To create this chic yet affordable toilet paper holder using repurposed Dollar Tree items, start out by tracing a circle around a bowl placed on the back side of the Synthetic Leather. You can use an appropriately-sized bowl you already own to complete this step but just make sure, first and foremost, that it's big enough to hold a roll of toilet paper. Next, cut the circle out and begin punching holes around the outside of the fabric. When you're done, you can cut a long string of ribbon and weave it through the holes.

Keep in mind that you don't have to use plain white ribbon. If you're a fan of the nautical look, the Natural Jute Cord from Dollar Tree could be a good fit. Alternatively, the Lace Ribbon from Dollar Tree would complement a shabby chic or antique bathroom aesthetic beautifully. Feel free to use any thin rope or ribbon you already have on hand as well, if you want to upcycle. After you weave your ribbon or rope of choice through the holes once, don't forget to weave another layer over the first one as shown above.

Then, simply place a toilet paper roll inside and close it tight. Although the content creator used the bag to store jewelry, it should also hold your toilet paper perfectly. As a finishing touch, consider tying a few charms to the end of the excess hanging ribbon. These colorful Stino Metal Pendant Charms from Amazon are lovely but any charms will work well.
