Great bookcase and number of shelvesJenniThe Billy transformed my cluttered collection of books into an organized office library space. Love the corner option and number of shelves. It didn't break the bank to tidy up and display my books.
BUY IT!!KandyceIf you are looking for something inexpensive that gives LUXURY BUY THIS BOOKCASE!! This was the perfect addition to my living room!!
Color won me overLizI have two Hemnes bookcases but needed something smaller for art supplies and books and when I saw the blue I fell in love! Bought a few extra glass shelves and baskets to organize my once unruly paints and pencils, power cords and electronics—my work laptop, personal laptop, Kindle and iPad are all easy to find—and it’s perfect. I smile whenever I look at my space. Thinking of buying a third just for manga and merch.
Damage MarieBoth back panels on this bookshelves are damaged. I need a call
Great bookshelf, but don’t plan on expanding it laterKevinBought the larger bookshelf about a year ago and recently decided to expand my fiancées library. Got home only to notice my current bookshelf was 2-3 shades darker. Thought I purchased the wrong finish, so I disassembled everything, returned it, bought the darker finish. I got home only to realize this also didn’t match. When I talked to customer service I was told occasionally their suppliers change and there was nothing I could do about it.
So long story short: Don’t purchase these if you plan on expanding your library later on, or if you are buying them to expand the bookshelf you already own.
Good choiceCynthiaWe had two awkward little alcoves that were wasted space. These bookcases fit beautifully.
Just the right sizeBettyWas looking for additional storage for my closet. The versatile of this storage unit was just the right solution. It fit nicely into the corner of my closet turning dead space into additional storage. I would highly recommend it.
If you change the game, change the name.W ThomasToday's Billy Bookcases are not the same as the ones I bought 15+ years ago. Color, wood pattern, and size have changed. Nothing matches. Why call them by the same name if they have changed? I hope the new ones are as sturdy as the older ones.
So good, I purchased 4SaraI purchased one bookcase and then quickly bought 3 more. The verticality really helps with storage in small spaces and they hold quite a bit. Recommend.
Good Looking BookcaseBobbyAssembly was not difficult. Love the black oak effect.
Operation Billy BookcasePamelaMy husband and I recently moved into a new home and bought 2 Billy Bookcases to augment the closet system in our primary bedroom. We have never had to assemble furniture before and found the bookcases easy to put together, attractive, sturdy and functional! We are now considering the Billy Bookcase cabinet system for our back entry drop zone. Great product, Ikea!
What a versatile shelf!MonicaWe use these everywhere, Large spaces, small spaces, they just work. They look great and I LOVE that you can add a bit of wallpaper or paint to the backing and give it all kinds of character.
Perfect for small spacesDianeI purchased this recently to organize my husband‘s video games. I only had a limited amount of space to put an organizer and this was perfect. My husband also loved it because now all his games were nice, organized and easier to find what he is looking for.
THE BEST COLORSaraPlease restock, I need another! Its so perfect.
No additional shelvingDanielI really like the look of this bookcase, but IKEA offers no way to purchase additional blue shelves for this piece. If you want more blue shelves than what is provided, you will have to buy entire additional bookcase.
Billy BookcaseEduardoEasy to assembly.Perfect fit for my place.
Great small bookcase.RichardGood construction, great price. Instruction pictorial needs some study before diving. Be sure you don't need the larger model.
billy to the rescueJohnI needed storage space in my bathroom and the bookcase fit the spot and now my bathroom is organized and everything is easy to locate. My home has a lot of storage issues and this is one of my solutions.
Billy is the way to go!! MargaritaI got 5 units to build a custom media center for my office/playroom for my son and I to have better organization. Each unit took me less that 15 minutes to build! We added the doors as well for a cleaner look (I get overstimulated easily with messes). I used the Billy tool to help create what I was looking for!
I will say, delivery took forever so in the future I would much rather use the click and collect option and pick it up myself or just go in and shop what I need. Thank you ikea for creating such creative and amazing storage hacks!
Great ShelvesTinaBought the corner hardware separately. They went together easily (make sure you have a ratcheting screwdriver to avoid hand pain and cracking the particleboard veneer).
