does not work properlyOliverif the power goes out and comes back on....the lights are on. the ikea system is not up to date with this issue. my repeated phone calls were useless. i was sent more remotes and wireless controls. the techies have to look at this. zigbee is the magic word. ikea does not have it
Died after eight monthsKyleIt worked fine for months. Recently, even after switching out the battery several times, it just died and no longer functions. Less than a year lifespan. I have two of the older model that still function fine. This is not an upgrade.
Thought it was dead, but you have to put driver into sync mode firstIanThis may be long but is a simple detail review covering gaps in instructions and good Youtube videos online are hard to find.
I used this Tradfi (power driver), Mittled (light strips), Rodret (wireless on/off switch), Ansluta (power cord), Vagdal (wiring).
I've done other installs with Ribbonflex stuff, chose this for my daughter's closet as it looked more simple. This was plug and play, make sure your led rating doesn't exceed your power supply rating, otherwise buy what I did.
Install was basic, figure out where you're securing the driver, wire cabling, led mounting and then go. The driver uses 1 power cable that is long with a toggle power switch, otherwise each led uses a single cable run to the driver unless you string the led units together to make a big led strip.
Biggest gap is the Rodret setup. What's missing..put battery in the Rodret unit, use pin on the sync button on the Tradfi driver and then hold sync button on Rodret while holding against driver.
Highly recommend
Like everyone else- it came deadChrsNot working at all- totally nonfunctional
Essential to my lifeMiaI have several of these through my house and I love them!
With a clickMichaelAllows me to manage the lighting in the room from the convenience of my bed. And the dimmer allows my wife to sleep easier when getting ready early in the morning.
DOAJonathanDead on arrival. No light on the device when trying to pair. Battery checked fine.

I love that it has multiple mounting options. Tabletop, magnetic, wall mounted metal base.

Does Not Work - 0 starsJudithMultiple attempts and lengthy phone call with tech support. Inserted several batteries and even followed instructions from earlier reviews. "You get what you pay for" is an apt description of this cheap product. Even the tech support person could not help.
Good product, great price, DOES work with Home AssistantJamesI have five Rodret dimmers around my home and plan to add more in the future. I also have zero Ikea light bulbs or anything else from their ecosystem - all of my Rodrets (and one Somrig) are connected to a Zigbee bridge, which talks to my Home Assistant server. (Fellow HA nerds, I use a wired ZB-GW03 running Tasmota that I bought from that big "straight from China" eCommerce platform, in ZHA bridge mode.) They work great for that, highly recommended, especially for $8.
Could never get it to connectBraedenI could never get it to connect to any of my lights. I had three different people try replaced the batteries. Made me using the lights in my closet difficult because the only way I could turn my lights off was by fully unplugging them.
Rodret ReviewKimberlyGood product works like advertised.
SucksMarianImpossible to pair with my LED lights under cabinets!!!!
It’s workingGianbattistaIt’s working properly. Nice the wall attachment. I think it could have been a little smaller.
Great dimmer/ on/offAnonymous reviewerAgain, instructions vague, but works like a charm
Excellent functionality; wish it was available in blackJuddSmooth dimming, with last-setting memory. Magnetic holder to make remote access convenient is a really nice design touch.
*One hitch*: the pairing instructions don’t mention using a fine wire to reset the Trådfri base when setting up (a web search helped me). My only “complaint” is that it’s not also available in black, which would have earned it the fifth star.
Works FineBrandonI had to buy a few of these because every now and then you'll run into a defective one.. That goes for all of the lighting components.. These things are mass-produced and the quality varies.
Remote works as it should but had pairing issuesRyanI bought the RODRET switch to connect to the Tradfri for undercab lighting. My first attempt to pair the remote (like I have done on numerous other ikea smart home pairing products without issues) proved unsuccessful. After an hour trying I returned this item thinking it was defective. Purchased replacements and still had the same issue. It wasn't till reading a snippet in the install video I opened via QR code in directions that it is mentioned to FACTORY RESET THE REMOTE by clicking the pairing button 4 times fast within 5 seconds. Crazy you need to do this from factory but once I did that it connected like normal.
Seems like it may actually be an issue with certain remotes. Anyways try factory resetting the remote before attempting to pair if you have issues similar to mine.
Smart hubBryantdidn't know you needed the smart hub to use it haven't used.
