Jonathan Hurst is taking Digit to TechCrunch #Disrupt2026. On Wednesday, October 14, he'll be on stage in San Francisco for a live look at the engineering behind practical humanoid robots — what it takes to build a robot that works alongside people, and where the hard problems actually are. If you'll be at Disrupt, come find us. #Agility #Digit #MadeForWork

Safety isn't a feature you add to a humanoid robot. It's the architecture you build it on. Today we're announcing a strategic partnership with FORT Robotics to extend that architecture beyond Digit itself. Over several years, our work with FORT has grown from a single custom component into a three-part safety system: a safety pendant, on-robot communications, and — new in this partnership — an Offboard Safety Bridge that connects Digit to the safety systems already running in a customer's facility. Why it matters: as humanoid robots take on more work in close proximity to people, safety has to hold whether the signal comes from onboard the robot or from the environment around it. The Offboard Safety Bridge is built for exactly that. This is grounded in real deployment, not a whiteboard. Digit has logged more than 65,000 hours of real-world operation — and everything we learn there shapes what comes next. Looking forward to working with the Agility team. Exciting times ahead!
Agility Robotics, today announced that Merline Saintil, Derek Aberle and Pierre Gentin are expected to join its board of directors following the completion of its previously announced business combination with Churchill Capital Corp XI (NASDAQ: CCXI). The new directors will serve alongside Agility CEO Peggy Johnson and co-founder Damion Shelton, both of whom will continue as members of the board. The appointments bring together executives with decades of experience leading global technology companies, building strategic partnerships, navigating complex legal and regulatory environments, and guiding publicly traded businesses. Together, they will help oversee Agility's next phase of growth as the company looks to expand commercial deployments of Digit®, scale its manufacturing capabilities, and advance the adoption of humanoid robotics across industrial environments.

Safety is one word. That's what makes it easy to underestimate. Doing it for a humanoid robot, a machine that moves through spaces built for people, is one of the hardest problems in the field. In this episode of Agility Foundations: Functional Safety, Kevin R. starts where the real work starts: with how much complexity hides behind a word everyone assumes is simple. Unfortunately, I couldn't fly to IROS, but I'm lucky enough to have amazing people around me who decided to help me “be at IROS remotely.” I’ll be posting videos filmed by my robo-friends, so if you are like me and couldn't attend, can still feel what's poppin' in the physical AI space. In this case big thank you to Thomas Varsavsky for 📽️! Here’s a manipulation showcase by Agility Robotics. This robot used to be primarily associated with moving totes back in the days. Now, as you can see, it handles various objects quite skillfully. Big kudos to Chris Paxton and team behind this! ~~ ♻️ Join the weekly robotics newsletter, and never miss any news → ziegler.substack.com

At Agility, rigorous engineering leads to exacting results and the next generation of Digit demands both. We're hiring a Senior Electrical Engineer to design the production-ready electronics that power our commercially deployed humanoid robots. The work spans PCB schematic and layout, power electronics, embedded controls, component qualification, and board-level bring-up — in a platform already operating in production facilities. 7+ years of electrical design experience. Deep Altium proficiency required. Hybrid in Fremont, CA. Learn more and apply via the link in the comments. #Agility #MadeForWork #Digit

A $1 trillion labor need is coming, and the workforce filling it may look very different. On the latest Digital Disruption episode, Peggy Johnson, CEO of Agility Robotics, joins Geoff Nielson to explain why humanoid robots like Digit are moving into real factories and warehouses. This is not technology looking for a problem. It is a response to work that needs to be done and a labor force that is not there to do it. The robot workforce is already taking shape. Episode out now. Links in comments. #HumanoidRobots #FutureOfManufacturing #TechPodcast

The hardest jobs to automate are also the hardest jobs to fill. There are hundreds of thousands of unfilled manufacturing roles in the U.S. right now, and the gap is widening: a workforce that's retiring, fewer young people stepping into these roles, and reshoring adding demand faster than it can be met. These are the physically punishing, repetitive tasks people have steadily moved away from. That gap is why Digit exists. Not to replace the work people want, but to take on the work they've stepped away from, so the roles that stay hard to fill can still get done. Peggy Johnson made this case well in a conversation with A3's Brian Heater.
