Last Thursday, I had the pleasure of attending and volunteering at American Marketing Association (AMA) San Francisco’s 2026 Excellence in Marketing Awards aboard the historic Klamath in San Francisco! It was inspiring to celebrate the creativity, strategy, and impact behind some of the Bay Area’s outstanding marketing work—and to help support an evening that brought this community together. One of my favorite parts was connecting with fellow marketers and meeting the people behind the work. As I continue growing my career in marketing and communications, I’m grateful for opportunities to get involved, build my network, and learn from this community. Congratulations to all the award winners and President’s Award recipients, and thank you to the AMA SF team and fellow volunteers for making it such a memorable evening! #AMASF #BayAreaMarketing

Took a little nap after chairing this year’s Excellence in Marketing Awards for American Marketing Association (AMA) San Francisco, and now want to again congratulate our winners and thank our phenomenal judges (but not tag you to spare your notifications), and also offer some Behind the Scenes Awards 🛥️🏆🎉: Last year when Kristin Young and I relaunched this legacy program, the plan was always to bring it to life Year 1, then make it bigger and better in Year 2. This year Kristin still supported in the background while she launched Continusum, and a mostly new squad helped deliver our awards goals. We kept what was great of inviting amazing judges, offering community nominations, and creating an event that we would want to attend ourselves. New this year, we moved to the beautiful Klamath, added new categories and new sponsors, changed the date to enjoy SF’s summer, and included all food and bev so no one had to go looking for their wallet. And our results were more nominations, finalists, and awards vs 2025, and a party that didn’t end until after the lights flickered off. So here are my 2026 Excellence in Behind the Scenes Awards: 🏆 Best Future Co-Chair (and MVP): Irene Sanchez 👑 Best Co-Chair Emeritus: Kristin Young 🎧 Best Event Producer: Julio C. 👩🏽✈️ Best Floor General: Sejal Bapna 📈 Best Marcom-of-All-Trades: Rinita Datta Ian Robinson-Lambert ⚾️ Best Pinch Hitters: Diamond Sorsby Amber M Shinn, MBA PMP CSM Janet Lautenberger Arjoyita Roy Brian Douglas Chris Rogers Debbie Sorich 🤝 Best Partner to our Partners: Mark Sapoznikov 🥇 Founding Year Partner Legends: Katie Hegarty at Lyft Ads, Kariem Herrarte, MBA and team at StackAdaptStackAdapt, Anya Harris Zak Lyons Angela Oh at Kargo, Kristin Young at Life360, Lorenzo Fernandez-Kopec Marisa Gabriela Croatt at Peakbound StudioPeakbound Studio, Elliott Sneen, CSS at Purple Brands Melissa Mahoney Indigo Creative + Epic Legend Eric Weidner at Workbox, Inc. 🛥️ Best Rookie Partner Season: Skyler Beresini at Viant Technology, Ben Worthen at Zynga AdsZynga Ads, Jerome Palencia at Northbound Films 👨💼 Best Empowering Presidents (Present and Past): Thomas Moyer Eric Weidner 🙏 And the Behind-the-Behind-the-Scenes MVP who would hate to be tagged - my husband and supporter in crime who did 12,957 things to make this event possible and then quietly took these photos as a reminder of how special it was Until next year! j/k see y’all in 10 days - October 8 Tech Week Marketing in the AI Era Quantcast HQ - with another rooftop reception before San Francisco Summer comes to an end! https://lnkd.in/gE_fJVqu

Another amazing judge adding perspective to the American Marketing Association (AMA) San Francisco's Excellence in Marketing Awards. Thank you, LaSandra Brill! Sports, tech & semiconductors, utility and SaaS. Companies pushing the boundaries of what is possible. That's San Francisco, my friends.
Judge Spotlight! LaSandra Brill is Vice President of Global Digital Marketing at NVIDIA, where she is driving the company’s AI-first marketing transformation. She leads a global team of more than 200 marketers across data strategy, CRM, media, corporate social responsibility, marketing automation, and analytics—pioneering an “NVIDIA on NVIDIA” approach to AI-powered marketing. Prior to NVIDIA, LaSandra led Digital and Social Media Marketing at Symantec, where she spearheaded a full-scale digital transformation, modernizing the web experience, improving demand generation efficiency, and integrating customer touchpoints. Earlier in her career at Cisco, she built and scaled the company’s social media marketing strategy and played a key role in one of its top-performing product launches. Her work has earned industry recognition, including the Adobe Experience Maker Award and the Best Data-Driven Experience Award. She has also been named one of the Top 50 Influential Digital Marketers by the Online Marketing Institute and one of the Top 25 Women Who Rock Social Media. Beyond her professional work, LaSandra serves on the Board of Directors for LuMind Down Syndrome Research Foundation and the Executive Advisory Board for Parents Helping Parents, supporting individuals with developmental disabilities and their families. We're excited to welcome her to the Excellence in Marketing Awards later this month!

Huge congratulations to Edreece Arghandiwal and Oakland Roots Sports Club for their well-deserved win for Best Local Campaign! Stay tuned for a full list of winners later today.
Last night, Oakland Roots Sports Club took home Best Local Campaign at the American Marketing Association awards for our campaign heading into the 2025 season at the Oakland Coliseum. That season, we set an American sports history record for the highest attendance for a non-major league team. We were also a finalist for Best Integrated Campaign, right alongside Uber Eats and Google's Gemini. Uber Eats took that one, and honestly, losing to a Super Bowl budget and a Hollywood cast is a pretty good place to be. 😅 What makes me proudest is how we did it. We don't have the biggest budget in the room. What we have is a city, a story and a team that pours everything into telling it right. Marketing is a mosaic. It's made up of a lot of pieces, from our creative, content, social, partnerships, ticketing and community teams to the fans, artists and neighbors who show up and make The Town what it is. Every one of those pieces contributed to this. We are seen, we have been seen, and we continue to be seen. To the American Marketing Association and everyone involved, thank you for recognizing our work and the work of so many talented creators across our amazing community. Big love and appreciation to our team and everyone who helped bring this work to life. Now, let's go close out the Coliseum the way it deserves!
