This fall, Twin Farms in Barnard, Vermont reopens its spa at a moment when wellness has become one of the defining differentiators in luxury hospitality. Twin Farms is one of the most singular luxury escapes in the US, and the spa is built to match that standard. Our design draws from Vermont's barn vernacular: hand-hewn beams, stacked stone, soft plaster, a material palette that feels as though the building has always belonged to the landscape. A 60-foot pool flows from interior to exterior through an operable window wall, one of only two swim-in, swim-out configurations in Vermont. We had the pleasure of collaborating with wellness expert Lydia Mondavi, whose programming informed the guest journey: hot and cold plunges, steam, and a cold-therapy snow flurry feature. A post-treatment lounge anchored by a double-sided stone fireplace completes the experience. The global wellness economy is growing at nearly twice the rate of global GDP, on track to reach nearly $10 trillion by 2029. Wellness real estate is the fastest-growing sector within it, and guest expectations are rising alongside. Luxury wellness spaces work best when the design is so thoughtful that instead of it being a wow factor, guests simply feel held by it. That's Hospitable Thinking applied to wellness: every detail in service of the experience. #TwinFarms #WellnessDesign #SpaDesign #HospitalityDesign #LuxuryWellness #HotelDesign #InteriorDesign #Vermont

About us
Founded in NYC by four partners, Kristina O’Neal, Adam Farmerie, William Harris, and Greg Bradshaw, AvroKO has earned a reputation as one of the world’s most innovative design firms, due in large part to its integrated design process and focus on creating emotionally-connected experiences through Hospitable Thinking®. The firm's critically hailed portfolio includes restaurants, bars, hotels, retail, residential and mixed-use projects from New York to Hong Kong, all characterized by a unique convergence between the ideals of the past and an off-beat, forward-looking sensibility. Over the past 20+ years, the firm has grown globally to five offices (New York City, Bangkok, San Francisco, London, and Miami) working on projects across 22 countries in 32 cities; launched over a dozen company owned-and-operated restaurants; developed, licensed, and consulted on various hospitality concepts through AvroKO Hospitality Group; created a furniture and lighting manufacturing arm, Goodshop; and established a stand-alone branding and strategy agency, Brand Bureau—together forming AvroKO World. The James Beard Awards, Hospitality Design Awards, Sleeper AHEAD Awards, and HA&D Award are among those that have recognized their interior design.

Cindy Allen has been leading Interior Design Magazine for twenty-five years. Twenty-five years ago, AvroKO opened its doors. We have quite literally grown up together. Twenty-five years at the helm of one of the world's most influential design publications is no small thing. Cindy has spent that time championing design with a rigor and consistency that has genuinely shaped the industry, giving platforms to deserving work, holding a standard that pushed everyone to do better, and doing it all with an unwavering point of view. That kind of editorial commitment matters. It tells designers and firms something important: the work resonates beyond the room it was designed for. We are grateful to have been in her orbit, and to have had projects like W Prague, The Jay, HOST on Howard, Calistoga Motor Lodge, Perry Lane, and others find their way into her pages over the years. Here's to 25 years, Cindy! The industry is better for every one of them. #InteriorDesignMagazine #AvroKO #25Years #HospitalityDesign #InteriorDesign

Bedrooms that open onto wraparound terraces, the South Florida landscape stretching out beyond floor-to-ceiling glass. And then it extends outward. A hammam stripped back to pure serenity. A games room with bowling lanes, billiards, and a proper bar. A children's playroom designed with the same craft and imagination as every other space in the building.
