Best Buy is debuting 🔜 on TikTok Shop. In late October, we’ll become one of the first big-box retailers on the platform, bringing shoppers nearly 10,000 products from top brands without leaving the TikTok app. It’s another way we’re meeting customers at the moment of discovery and making tech easier to shop. The future of gaming is in good hands. 🎮 Congrats to the talented creators who completed XBOX Game Camp Minneapolis. This partnership between the Best Buy Foundation® and XBOX brought together young people from local Best Buy Teen Tech Centers® to design video game prototypes and learn about the many paths into tech and game development.
Thank you, Asha Sharma and Jason Bonfig, for taking part in Best Buy Foundation Presents XBOX Game Camp Minneapolis and the closing event last week. Your perspectives on career paths into tech during the fireside chat were inspiring. Thank you also to Jeff Haydock for moderating and Olivia Jefferson (she/her) for hosting the event. Chris Charla - Really appreciate your participation at Best Buy headquarters and the insights you shared. We appreciate everyone who made this camp a reality and wish the group of alumni best of success in their video game development careers. Photos courtesy of Best Buy

The ‘80s and ‘90s had range. MTV hit the airwaves, personal computers entered everyday life, VCRs became must-haves and movies like “E.T.” became cultural moments. For the Sound of Music, soon to be known as Best Buy, those decades brought a different kind of transformation. A tornado sale helped redefine the business, a new name signaled a bold future and bigger stores fueled bigger growth. As we celebrate 60 years, we’re looking back at the moments that shaped our company, customers and the world around us.

A lot can change in 60 years. In the ‘60s, The Beatles were on the radio, color TV was becoming more common in homes and a small audio store opened in St. Paul, Minn. That store was Sound of Music — which would later become known as Best Buy. As we celebrate our 60th anniversary, we’re looking back at the moments that shaped our company, customers and the world around us.
