In my last post about Biena Snacks, I mentioned that if I ever visited Costco in US, this snack was definitely going straight into my cart… And today, it happened 😄🛒 After trying Biena Snacks Edamame earlier and learning about how the brand was founded in 2012 by Poorvi Patodia , an Indian female entrepreneur, I was excited to finally see it on the shelves myself. What started as just trying a snack turned into discovering the story, the vision, and the thought behind building a healthier snacking brand. It’s interesting how a product sitting on a Costco shelf can have so much behind it, from the founder’s idea to the way the brand connects with consumers. Seeing Biena out in the world, in real Costco Wholesale aisles, in real people’s carts, made all of the hard work feel incredibly real. Nothing brings a team closer together than experiencing your work together, out in the market. A few Wednesdays ago, we shut down work at 2pm est across the country, and each person went out to a local Costco. There was only one goal: it was to experience the national Costco launch of our Edamame line, out in the world, together, at the same time. Millions of people across the country are experiencing a snack we created. And it was time for us to experience it for ourselves. There was clapping in the aisle, celebration and also some team shenanigans. 😅 (see our IG for more on that) It was amazing to see not 1, but 2, Biena items sitting side-by-side, occupying 3 pallet spaces! We also watched real people walk up and down the aisle, and saw someone pick up Biena Snacks and drop it into their cart, at which point we started talking to her. It was awesome. You can talk about mission and impact at an all-hands, all you want. But nothing bonds a team like *seeing* your hard work, out in the market together. If you lead a team: get them into the market, and in front of the customer. It changes everything. #TeamCulture #Leadership #CPG #Biena
