Big news today: we're teaming up with director Jacob Chase on his next horror film, "Sleepover." Chase wrote the script with Bryce McGuire ("Night Swim"), and Universal will release it on October 8, 2027. Last Friday we opened Chase's "Insidious: Out of the Further," the newest chapter in the franchise, and it's now holding the highest Rotten Tomatoes audience score of any Insidious film to date. What's the horror film that ruined sleep for you?

Horror's New Wave: 15 Years of Blumhouse, our book with Dave Schilling, is an official finalist for the 2026 World Fantasy Award in the Special Award, Professional category. The World Fantasy Awards are one of the three most prestigious honors in speculative fiction. They've been given every year since 1975 and are decided by a jury. Our marketing team is small but mighty, so a juried nod like this one means a lot. Our movies reach a lot of you, and they show up in your lives in ways we don't take for granted. This book was our attempt to get fifteen years of that down on the page. Dauberman has spent a decade building exactly that kind of connective tissue across some of the genre's biggest titles. What do you think makes a horror franchise worth returning to?
