Shor (YC S25) is a fast-growing global payments and EOR platform, helping startups hire and pay people in new countries without the usual friction. That kind of growth means constantly standing up new entities and staying compliant as they expand. Traditional providers couldn't keep pace, so Shor turned to Commenda instead. Commenda got them operational in India and Canada in weeks for $15,000+ less than traditional providers. Now every new corridor Shor opens runs through Commenda first.
Commenda
Technology, Information and Internet
The global compliance and entity management platform for companies that operate across borders.
About us
Commenda consolidates the entire international operations stack into a single platform: • Entity Management & Incorporation • Corporate Tax and Financial Reporting • Global Indirect Tax (including Sales Tax) • Transfer Pricing Where others offer point solutions (one tool for sales tax, another for entity management, another for employer of record), we give you one source of truth. One vendor relationship. No sprawl. We don't compete with any single vendor. We replace the entire category of vendors.

Our head of sales sits in these conversations every week. This is the story he hears most.
Nobody chooses to run global compliance across six vendors. It accumulates. You incorporate in one country, so you hire a law firm there. You owe VAT somewhere else, so you buy a tool. Transfer pricing comes up, so you call a consultancy. Five years later you're the only integration layer between all of it, and it lives in your head.

We migrate businesses off their legacy tax provider so often that we built an entire team whose sole focus is handling these customers. The CommendaSwitch team. Overcharged fees, AI chatbots, limited functionality with nobody taking ownership on issues. We heard the same story every single time. Reach out and learn how you can switch your Tax Tech over to Commenda today.

We are looking for someone exceptionally good at SEO and organic growth. Someone who can figure out what to write, write it, track the progress, take the feedback, improve the process, and close the loop. Before we start, this job posting isn't for you if you think anime isn't cool. Or that a person shouldn't wear multiple hats (quite literally). Or that one person can't change the world. Or that a month-long project actually takes a month. Or you think this is another 9 to 5. The problem we are solving is old. The economy has run for a couple of thousand years, and for most of that time, trading across a border was harder than it needed to be. Then, about a thousand years ago in Venice, merchants started using a contract called the commenda. One partner put up the capital. The other sailed with the goods. Both shared the risk. Those voyages funded the trade that funded the Renaissance. A thousand years later the problem is still here. A company opening its fifth entity still hits a maze of registrations, filings, and deadlines that nobody owns. We took the name for a reason. Commenda is the second Renaissance. When this works, global business expansion runs through us. We are a fast-moving legal & finance tech company in SF and Bangalore. If you are the person who can take us from 10 to 100, apply https://lnkd.in/g3ATU7CE P.S: I look less scary in real life.

Ever felt like your tax tech provider is passing you around like a parcel? Tickets raised, long email chains, Six or seven different people involved and somehow you're the one coordinating all of them? I know that feeling well. I saw it happen continually for several years to customers, over and over. At Commenda we built an alternative: One point of contact. One platform for global compliance. One team to migrate you over. Consider using the CommendaSwitch team today.

Thinking of expanding your law practice across Europe? Get ready for France! Héctor LV at Lexidy Law personally managed Lexidy’s expansion to nine markets with full license to practice. He’s got great insights into when and why you would want to go through the pain of the French bar association vs. working with a provider like Commenda to expand your offerings. Want to work with Héctor and other great partners like him to offer services around the world? Shoot me a DM!

Important webinar reminder for this week! Considering a U.S expansion? Consider New Jersey. Admittedly not always the first state companies think of when planning a move to the States. When I speak to EMEA businesses, their entire reference point for New Jersey is usually "it's near New York" and "wasn't that where The Sopranos was set?" Fair enough. But there's a lot more going on there than that. Funding, training support, and a genuinely strong case as a base for your US expansion - New Jersey's quietly become a serious option for EMEA businesses moving into the States. This Thursday I'm hosting the webinar: "Commenda presents: Why New Jersey?" I will be joined by Barney Smeaton, Director at Choose New Jersey, Inc. to get into exactly why more and more EMEA businesses are moving to the Garden State. If you're considering a warehouse, a sales office or your main US premises and don't know where to set up. This one's worth an hour of your time. 📅 August 27th | 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM BST Register here 👇 https://lnkd.in/e6b3gPw2
