There was agreement across the TVOT 'Measurement Grand Finale' panel yesterday as Comscore’s Joe Ruthruff, Ph.D. shared his perspective that the media industry should "see AI as an accelerant and not a silver bullet” for solving advertising challenges. Alongside speakers from the Media Rating Council, Publicis Media, datafuelX, Vuer, Nielsen, and Numeris in Montreal, Joe urged attendees using AI solutions to target their use cases properly and put controls in place to help make sure they are approaching the work in a grounded way. He emphasized that success with AI depends not just on the tools, but on working with a trusted measurement partner, like Comscore, who prioritizes transparency, rigor, and accountability. For more of the highlights from this session, be sure to check back next week to read Joe’s blog unpacking the key takeaways. Our thanks also to The TV of Tomorrow Show team for inviting Comscore to join the discussion. Howard Shimmel George Ivie Megan Browne Halscheid Omar Delgado Jonathon Wells Dr Derrick Gray

Changing currency providers is not something that happens overnight, as Comscore’s EVP Commercial, Tara Gotch, shared with The Current recently. A shift to a modern measurement provider is built on stability, trust, and a strong partnership. It is a complex process that can involve short-term disruption - much like renovating a house - but the effort is worthwhile for achieving long-term reliability anchored in a modern framework.
