One of the ideas behind CSC has always been that interior design can play a much larger role in our lives than aesthetics alone. Just over three months ago, I packed up my life and moved to Los Angeles. When people talk about starting over, they usually focus on the career move. The new job. The business. The opportunity. What they don’t talk about is everything else. Learning a new city street by street. Finding places that slowly become part of your routine. Meeting people who eventually become friends. Sitting through uncertainty long enough to realize that growth rarely feels comfortable while it’s happening. Building Curated Style Collective has been one of the reasons I came here. But these last few months have reminded me that building a business and building a life are often the same journey. Looking back through these photos, I don’t just see Los Angeles. I see a chapter defined by curiosity, resilience, meaningful connection, and the quiet realization that sometimes the best parts of starting over are the ones you never could have planned. Before founding Curated Style Collective, my background was rooted in science, project management, operations, and creative problem-solving. I took a break from posting over the Fourth of July weekend. Not because I ran out of ideas, but because I needed to be present in the life I’ve been working so hard to build. The last few weeks have been a reminder that building a business isn’t just about strategy, growth, or execution. It’s also about taking care of the person behind it. Between starting over in Los Angeles, growing Curated Style Collective, navigating a recent episode of atrial fibrillation, and continuing the personal work I’ve been doing in therapy, I’ve been reminded that resilience isn’t about pushing harder. It’s about knowing when to slow down. One thing I’ve become increasingly passionate about is encouraging more men to seek help when they need it. Therapy has challenged me, stretched me, and made me a better leader, friend, and human being. I wish we talked about it more. Ironically, this journey has only reinforced why I believe so deeply in what I do. We spend so much time thinking about productivity, yet we often overlook the environment we return to every day. A home should support your recovery, your relationships, your creativity, and your well-being—not just reflect your style. Sometimes the best investment you can make isn’t working another hour. Today I spent a few hours exploring Old Pasadena. There’s a quiet confidence to its architecture. Historic buildings, shaded courtyards, brick streets, and details that have stood the test of time. Nothing feels rushed or like it’s trying to compete for attention. It reminded me that the best environments don’t just look beautiful. They influence our pace. As an interior designer, that’s ultimately what I hope to create for my clients. Not spaces that simply photograph well, but homes that support the way they want to live—places that feel calm, intentional, and deeply personal.
