Yesterday, DCA Partners hosted our Fall Success Series at the Milagro Center, and we were grateful to see such a strong turnout from Sacramento's business community. These events are about bringing together business owners, leaders, and advisors to connect, share perspectives, and have conversations that don't always happen during the normal workday. Thank you to everyone who spent the afternoon with us and helped make it such a great event. Our keynote speaker, Robert Paylor, challenged the room with a simple question: What paralyzes you? Robert knows paralysis firsthand, and his message was that all of us are paralyzed by something. It might be fear, doubt, a difficult decision, or a challenge inside our organization. If you are not familiar with Robert's story, be sure to check out Robert Paylor's page. Thank you, Robert, for your honesty and energy. We can't do these events alone. Thank you to our sponsors, some of the sharpest minds in the Sacramento professional community and partners we work alongside to serve our clients: Co-Presenting Sponsors: Boutin Jones Inc., Wells Fargo, and CTW Food & Appetizer Sponsor: InterWest Insurance Services Bar Sponsor: Weintraub Tobin Book Sponsor: BPM LLP Table Sponsors: Alliant Insurance Services, Baker Tilly US, BFBA, LLP, CLA (CliftonLarsonAllen), Downey Brand LLP, and Tri Counties Bank In-Kind Partners: Vistage Worldwide, Inc., FEI Sacramento (Financial Executives International), and CMTA. We hope you left with at least one idea to take back to your business and a few relationships worth keeping. See you at the next Success Series. #DCASuccessSeries #SacramentoBusinessCommunity

  • We had a great morning of learning at the The Capital Region Family Business Center's Fall Family Forum "Amplify Your Brand" event, digging into how AI search is reshaping the way clients find and vet advisors. Joshua Hanosh, of Three29, set the stage with a talk on GEO and what it takes for businesses to show up as trusted answers in AI search. He then joined a panel moderated by Chris Stephenson of DCA Partners. The conversation also featured Bryan Flaherty, Publisher & Market President of the Sacramento Business Journal, and Ann Bouchard, Founder and President of Bouchard Communications Group, who shared more than 30 years of experience in PR, branding, and media relations. One stat that stuck with us traffic that arrives through AI search engines like Claude, ChatGPT and Gemini converts 5-9x better than traditional organic traffic. Those visitors show up already convinced. They're using AI to validate a decision, not to start shopping around. A few takeaways: - AI can be your biggest referral partner. It trusts what others say about you, like reviews and press, more than what you say about yourself. - AI reads websites differently than humans, so it may never see your best content. Fixing that takes some backend cleanup, not a full rebuild. Thanks to the speakers and to the Family Business Center for putting this together.

  • August was the slowest month for mid-market M&A all year — 49 deals worth about $18.8 billion, down from 72 deals in July. But our own Brent Haapanen doesn't read that as a cooldown. In Mergers & Acquisitions magazine's latest deal analysis, he shares what he's actually hearing from owners right now: "August didn't feel like a summer slowdown for us. What stood out was how present tense the conversations were. A lot of owners were asking some version of 'Is now the right time?' More specifically, whether they should be preparing to go to market in the next couple of quarters. That's a noticeably different conversation than we were having at this time last year." Year to date, deal activity is still ahead of 2025 — 706 deals worth close to $235.2 billion, versus 667 deals worth about $202 billion through the same stretch last year. https://lnkd.in/gkf_8i9g

Last Friday, DCA Partners was proud to sponsor and participate at the Air Systems Service & Construction Olympics Charity Fundraiser. Tom Arstingstall, Seamus McLaughlin, and L&H Airco (and supportive spouses). It was a great day of fun, competition, and camaraderie.   Events like this are a reminder of what makes our community strong: people and organizations coming together to support something bigger than themselves. Thank you to Air Systems Service & Construction for putting on such a well-run event and to everyone who participated, volunteered, and donated. Our team is already back in the gym training for 2027’s event!
