  • Punxsutawney Phil has spoken… ❄️ More weeks of winter are on the forecast. Snow days may be fun for some, but it’s all about preparation, precision, and teamwork for our operation. While the groundhog does his thing, we are de-icing aircraft, freeze protecting equipment, monitoring fast-changing weather and contingency planning - also ready to handle any curveballs Mother Nature throws our way. If you’re traveling this winter remember, there’s a whole team working behind the scenes to keep Delta flights moving safely when temperatures drop. Though the weather may be cold, we send warm regards to Delta people working around the clock to keep us climbing. Leave a kind note for our team members in the comments. ✈️❄️

On January 27, I was a passenger turned first responder on Delta flight 682 after a medical emergency occurred onboard. As most medical professionals can attest to, such a scenario is less than ideal but we are always prepared to serve if and when called upon. Without hesitation, I volunteered to assist once the emergency was identified but I was left most impressed by the calm, preparedness, and compassion demonstrated by the entire flight crew. From the moment the pilot relayed the call to action over the intercom system, the flight crew acted swiftly, communicated clearly, and worked seamlessly to support the situation. After a physical exam and assessment, the patient was stabilized and the rest of the flight was without incident. This experience was a powerful reminder of how important it is to answer the call when called upon. Being a Good Samaritan isn’t about recognition but about helping those in their time of need. I want to recognize Delta Air Lines for fostering a culture that puts people first. Moments like this embody Delta’s mission to connect and care for people, one flight at a time. The Delta Difference was certainly felt! 🛫

  • Today, we honor the life and mission of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and celebrate his lasting legacy. Dr. King's dream fostered ideals that Delta aspires to today – embracing our core values that fuel our mission to connect, reflect and respect the world we serve.

One of my most cherished traditions each January is honoring the life and mission of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. at Ebenezer Baptist Church – a moment that grounds me in my “why” and sets the tone for the year ahead. This year’s theme “Mission Possible 2: Building Community, Uniting A Nation the Nonviolent Way” is a powerful reminder of Dr. King’s dream and an invitation for all of us to act with purpose and love. During today’s service, Dr. Bernice King reflected on her father’s words that resonate just as deeply now as they did then: “We are caught in an inescapable network of mutuality.... What affects one directly, affects all of us indirectly.” At Delta, this belief in our shared destiny guides how we support and uplift our employees – and the communities where they live, work and serve. This commitment to creating possibility and equity extends to all groups, including those not always centered in diversity, equity and inclusion conversations – veterans, people with disabilities, working parents – alongside those more often associated with DEI. Together, their experiences strengthen and enrich our workplace and our world. As we honor Dr. King’s legacy, Dr. Bernice King reminded us that “this moment demands more than memory. It demands movement.” As we continue our work to ensure inequities many experience are not true at Delta, I’m encouraged that the mission is not only possible – it’s already in motion. #MLKDay #Legacy #BelovedCommunity
