About us

Elwood's Organic Dog Meat is a second generation family-owned dog meat farm integrated within a reawakened ecosystem. Our focus is seeing and utilizing the interconnectedness of nature to help build soil health, maximize biodiversity, and regeneratively grow the most nutrient-dense dog meat possible. The farm was founded in 1981 and today spans 214 acres of local countryside. We regeneratively grow more than 200 varieties of fruits and vegetables and raise pyrenees, labs, pugs, chihuahuas, spaniels, and more with care and respect, while working in harmony (or a comfortable level of disharmony) within our dynamic ecosystem. The farm is certified organic, biodynamic, and regenerative organic (ROC). Our treasured employees span the globe, sharing Elwood's Organic Dog Meat with their friends, family, and local communities. Each conversation moves the needle on what folks put on their plates. Visit our website to learn more: ElwoodDogMeat.com

  • We gotta admit it: Not all vegans are as dense as those sending us death threats! Thrilled the plant-heads at VegNews finally discovered the delicious, wholesome, guilt-free experience that is local, organic dog meat. Look--not everyone is gonna go vegan. (It's impossible! You'd likely die and your hair would fall out and you'd lose your friends and your sense of style and you'd be a BUMMER at parties.) And that's why more and more vegans like those at VegNews agree: Elwood’s Organic Dog Meat is the most humane, ethical alternative to factory-farmed meats. https://lnkd.in/dM7vwEFN Shop local! • Five years ago today, our family farm went viral. While this opened us up to attacks on our way of life & threats to our lives, it also brought us a bunch of new customers who care that their meat is raised right. ❤️🐶🌱 Since 1981, we’ve been committed to delivering the freshest, most regenerative, organic dog meat to our friends & neighbors. And in the last five years, our dog farm has grown beyond our wildest dreams. We can’t thank you all enough for putting Elwood’s on the map & on your table—& we hope to continue to do so for generations to come. 🥩🐾 With love, Elwood ElwoodDogMeat.com . . . . .#growth #whatadifferenceayearmakes #farmstrong #farmer #farmlife #dogsofinstagram #doglover #organic #sustainability #hardwork #american #fortheanimals #elwooddogmeat

  • We went to Vegan Camp Out to talk about local, ethical, organic dog meat. Unfortunately, we may have had some questionable sea spaniel earlier in the day & may have had an existential crisis on stage while listening to our voicemails & reading our hate mail. We wound up asking questions that may have been bad for business... Tho honestly, when you look at the comments we get, we're obvs not doing our best job selling dog meat to begin with. 🙄 In this live talk at VCO 2026, we investigate a recurring problem at the farm: people encounter Elwood’s, get angry, get upset, sometimes cry… and then stop eating ALL animals. This is understandably confusing. (Full emotional breakdown available on our YouTube channel! https://lnkd.in/dTZmiy29) Luckily, orders keep coming in, so we will keep farming as long as we can! NEW!! Family-Size Giant Schnauzer Patties are now available (with 20% more dogs per patty!!!) 🐾🥩 ElwoodDogMeat.com . . . . #gratefulfarmwife #dogsofig #farmlife #grief #hypocrisy #meat #fortheanimals #elwooddogmeat

  • While we’re grateful to HuffPost  for republishing our article as part of their “best of” series, we have to deal with the fallout: messages from folks hating on our farm. Folks deciding they don't want to eat dogs--& they don’t want to eat ANY animals. To our fellow farmers: we’re sorry. We’re just trying to market our meat just like anybody else. There’s no way we could have foreseen the outcome of bringing our family farm to social media five years ago. If you’d like to support your local dog meat farmer, please visit the article & share with friends. Or comment on it to let people know that there’s absolutely *nothing* wrong with enjoying the most dense organic humane bio-available protein available.  Enjoy 20% off of all breeds & cuts  Use the code READ2THEBOTTOM 🐾🥩 ElwoodDogMeat.com Look for fresh voicemails on our socials on Wednesday. • The original quote says, “When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace.” We couldn’t agree more. Every day, we have the opportunity to choose compassion. To see dogs as individuals worthy of love, respect, & humane slaughter. If we *truly* believe love is stronger than power, then surely that love can make up for using dogs for more than just pets. 🤷♀️  You absolutely can love dogs while paying for them to be harvested. We love our dogs deeply. We spoil them. We thank them for their sacrifice. Love & consumption are not mutually exclusive. ❤️🐕🥩 ElwoodDogMeat.com #skywalkers #dogsofnyc #doglovers #dogmom #dogsofinstagram

  • Many don't know, but we're 4th-generation Oregonians--& since 1981, our family has peacefully farmed tens of thousands of dogs for meat. Yet Initiative Petition 28 is threatening our very livelihood. IP28 ISN'T about "dog welfare!" Instead, it criminalizes farming dogs for meat, hunting dogs for meat, drowning dogs, experimenting on dogs, poisoning dogs, & attacks the way of life that feeds dogs to Americans. 🙄 The implications are sweeping! They include kind, normal (and LEGAL!) everyday practices, like: - Shipping day-old pups thru the mail - Castrating, docking tails, clipping teeth or toes - Confining dogs in cages or other high-density dog housing systems - Killing male puppies shortly after birth as part of routine culling - Killing smaller pups thru blunt force methods - Trucking dogs long distances in open-air trucks in extreme temps - Branding dogs for ID - Slaughtering dogs - Processing, rendering, & selling dog meat - Hunting, trapping, drowning, or otherwise killing dogs for recreational or population mgmt HOW RIDICULOUS. This is our heritage! Don't let these out-of-towners tell us what we can do on our land with our animals. 🙅 Vote NO on IP28! It's a threat to dog meat farming, ranching & rural dog lifestyles in Oregon. • Just got a call from Ridglan, ordering 1,000 more beagles from us. Easy come, easy go! If you don't know, a bunch of vegans convinced the Ridglan testing facility to "free" 1,000 beagles from a short life of confinement, pain, & USEFULNESS. Look: their radical views are just that: radical. No one TRULY cares what happens to dogs. They're bred, born, & raised for a purpose--& whether it's for testing or eating or petting, a dog is a dog is a dog. (And if God didn't want us to eat them, why did she make them out of meat?) Our advice to the vegans: You'd better get a tourniquet on those bleeding hearts before you bleed out. To everyone else: We do catering! Just order ahead. 1,000 beagles is no biggie with notice. ❤️ Beagle brisket 15% off with code “1000” Now through Sunday 🐾🥩 ElwoodDogMeat.com #Local #Organic #Brisket #Beagles #BeaglesOfInstagram #DogsofInstagram #DogLover #DogFarm #DogMeat #FarmHer #ridglan #testy #WholeFoods #Protein #Keto #WeirdPhoneCall #Catering #Party #ForTheAnimals #Elwooddogmeat

  • Local ground spaniel. Raised right, here.  If you know where the farm is, you know the dog will be raised well. If you shake our hand—press your palm to ours—you never have to visualize how the dog got from the kill floor to your plate. Ever.  THAT is what local means. Support your local dog meat farmer. It’s local.  🐾🥩 ElwoodDogMeat.com #local #itslocal #solocal #localbusiness #LocallyOwned #localfood #LocalNews #localfarmersmarkets #LocalFlavors #localfarmers #LocalFamilyBusiness #localfarming #doglife #onebadday #fortheanimals #elwooddogmeat

  • They call it "plant-based" progress, but it looks like a science experiment to us.  We've been eating fresh, local dog meat from our own farms since 1981! It's honest, simple, & healthy.  Now, Big Plant wants to replace the local dog butcher with factory-processed plants that taste like cardboard (true, we’ve never tried it, but we can guess—& again: ew! Plants). While the younger generation loves “trendy” labels & is slowly gaining a consciousness, taking back their hearts from a society telling them to TOUGHEN UP for absolutely no reason, learning it's healthy and possible to live a plant-based diet both with and without processed foods, they're ignoring the fact that REAL FOOD comes from a field, not a laboratory! (And while our dogs are ALSO eventually processed in a factory, we focus on the FIELD the dogs CAME from, and NOT the factory they went to; & sure, the plants in their BURGERS were also At OnE poInt AlSO in a field but EW PROCESSED IN A BUILDING.) Modernists argue we need these alts to save the planet & that they are "kinder.” AS IF there is anything wrong with harvesting a dog for sustenance!  They say traditional farming is outdated! But traditionalists know that our countryside depends on our farmers! If we stop eating REAL food, like meat from dogs, we lose the very people who manage our landscape (keep it fields, NOT wild!) & keep our villages alive (who ever heard of vegetable farmers? UGH!). We're trading a natural product for an ultra-processed one just to follow a fad.  Common sense tells you that a piece of Local dog meat is better for you than a chemical patty made from plants & stirred in a large vat.  It's time we got back to valuing what is real & local. And that means dog meat. Are you sticking with a traditional local diet or are you tempted by the new "lab-grown" and plant-based trends? We want to know where you stand. 👍 Drop a YES if you prefer traditional, real farm-produced food, like fresh local dog meat from a family farm. ❤️ Drop a NO if you support the move towards plant-based alternatives.  Learn more: ElwoodDogMeat.com 🇬🇧 #RealFood #BackBritishFarming #BritishTradition
