Bridget Venus Grimes, CFP® here! 👋 I recently had the chance to share a little about Equita Financial Network at Future Proof, and I was asked about two themes we're focused on right now: 1️⃣ The importance of community. Building a firm requires a lot of decisions, and having a community of women who've been where you are and share freely helps to make the aligned choices for you and your firm. 2️⃣ Our commitment to independence. Our EquitaFN members keep their autonomy and their own vision for their firms, with a platform and partner ecosystem behind them. Independent doesn't have to mean alone. That's what we're building at EquitaFN. A big thank you to Goldman Sachs for the opportunity! 🙌

About us
It started with a mission inspired by real-life experiences. The disenfranchised woman who works for a financial advisory firm that makes her feel alone — no like-minded mentor or advocate to rely on for advice. The woman who is overloaded with stress and anxiety, struggling to balance childcare and family obligations with a demanding job that doesn’t pay her the wage she deserves. The woman with dreams of starting her own advisory business, but no network or resources to propel her forward. Equita Financial Network was born out of a mission to create real, tangible change in the financial services industry — and it’s what drives everything we do. Co-founded by Bridget Venus Grimes and Katie Burke, Equita empowers independent, women-led financial planning firms to provide outstanding service to their clients, achieve business success, and leverage a network that allows them to do their life’s work without sacrificing what matters most. Together, we're committed to increasing the number of female-owned and -led financial planning firms in our industry and attracting more women to the field. In addition to providing a platform of leading client solutions to foster growth and service excellence, Equita has created a community that gives member firms organic outlets for mentorship, and opportunities to share best practices, resources, experiences, and even succession planning strategies. When women come together and support each other, amazing things happen. Contact us to learn more about our network and how we can help you.

A life lately update from Katie Burke CFP® 💚
Katie Burke CFP® here! 👋 Life lately has been a really good kind of busy. A few highlights from the past few weeks: → I connected with some incredible advisors local to Philadelphia alongside some members of our Charles Schwab team. Loved connecting with Mckenzie Frankel, CFP®! → We took a morning trip to a local animal sanctuary and met some baby highland cows! Say hi to Dolly the cow 🐄 → Half marathon training is officially in full swing 🏃♀️ → And fall is getting close here in Pennsylvania 🍂 The kids are back to school and our schedule is full with all the activites! Grateful for all of it 💚 Equita Financial Network I Method Financial Planning

One of the best things you can do as a female advisor, especially early on, is find your people. In a recent conversation with AdvisorEngine for their Action! series, Bridget Venus Grimes, CFP® shared some of her favorite communities for women in this industry: 👉 NAPFA - National Association of Personal Financial Advisors Women's Initiative 👉 Women's Alliance of Financial Advisors 👉 Equita Financial Network (that's us! 👋) 👉 Financial Planning Association (FPA®) 👉 The Externship- a mentorship program run by the incredible Hannah Moore, CFP® at Amplified Planning The magic of community is that you'll find people who are a few steps ahead, doing things differently than you, or asking the same questions you are. That kind of peer connection is one of the most underrated growth strategies in this business. Because building a firm is hard. But it's a lot easier when you're not doing it alone 💚 🎧 Listen to the full episode here: https://lnkd.in/gwj8HUZD Are you part of a community that has shaped your journey as an advisor? Katie Burke CFP® here 👋 For years, my website was functional. It generated inquiries and nothing was technically broken, but it had stopped reflecting who I was, who I supported, and what kind of guidance clients could expect from me and my firm. So I made changes. I put my fees on the Method Financial Planning website. I invested in a full rebrand + website design with Bethany McLean and Bethany Works ® Design Studio. And I committed to putting language around things that had become instinctive in my client work but had never been fully expressed publicly. If you've been putting off your own rebrand, this one's for you. 📲 Swipe through for the full story → And if you want to read the full article, I wrote about this for Financial Advisor Magazine: https://lnkd.in/efzuXy_C

Succession planning is one of the most important steps you'll ever take as a firm owner- and it’s usually one of the most overlooked 👀 Without a roadmap, founders risk client attrition, lost firm value, and unnecessary stress during the transition. That's why we created the EquitaFN Succession Advantage®. 👉 Learn more at equitafn.com

Starting an independent firm shouldn't mean starting from zero. Most advisors don't fail because they're not good at what they do- they fail because they're trying to build compliance, tech, and operations from scratch, alone. EquitaFN gives you the infrastructure of an established firm from day one, so you can focus on growth instead of guesswork. 📲 Learn about our EFN membership at equitafn.com Bridget Venus Grimes, CFP® I Katie Burke CFP® I Jacqueline O.

The most expensive mistake I see other firm owners make isn't a bad hire or a missed deadline. It's underpricing themselves 👀 Bridget Venus Grimes, CFP® here 👋 I've talked to so many women running solo and ensemble firms who are barely charging what the work is worth. It feels safer in the moment, but it caps your revenue, and that caps your ability to hire good support, invest in the right technology, and actually scale. I got into this and more in a recent conversation with Suleman Din for AdvisorEngine's Action! series, including: -The Friday planning habit that keeps my team out of Monday morning panic -Why I built a transparent fee schedule instead of guessing at what to charge -How an AI note-taker changed the way I show up in client meetings -Why investment management is the first thing solo and small firm owners should outsource Now I have to know...do you think you're underpricing yourself as an advisor? 🎧 Listen to the full episode now at https://lnkd.in/ekgusG_n Equita Financial Network I WealthChoice LLC I Katie Burke CFP® I Suzanne Siracuse I Jacqueline O.
