Photo: 🇪🇺   Name: EU flag Age: 40 years old Experience: unity, solidarity, diversity, progress    In 1986, the EU flag was raised for the first time, marking a new chapter in European integration.   Over the years, it has become the most recognisable symbol of a shared European identity.    The EU flag doesn’t belong solely to EU institutions.   It belongs to all Europeans.   It belongs to you.

    • Hoisting of the European flag in presence of Charles Rutten, Jacques Delors, Pierre Pflimlin and Carlo Ripa di Meana. A person is raising a large European Union flag on a flagpole in front of a glass building (Berlaymont, Brussels). The scene is set outdoors with greenery and trees visible around.

  • Europe’s scientific talent is world-class. We intend to keep it that way.    The 2026 MSCA Doctoral Networks call for proposals is now open 🚀    The Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) is our flagship programme for doctoral education and postdoctoral training. This year, we’re making close to €600 million available for researchers to work abroad, acquire new skills, and collaborate with leading scientific teams around the world.    Over the past 30 years, we’ve already supported over 150,000 researchers to follow their curiosity. 23 of them have gone on to win a Nobel Prize 🏅    We’re powering European excellence in research and innovation!    Find out more: https://lnkd.in/eEWk_rB4

    • Handwritten blue text on a white textured background reads: “Great science starts with great ideas. We are determined to support both.” In the bottom-right corner is the European Commission logo featuring the EU flag.
  • The global humanitarian system is facing crisis.     Current funds will only reach fewer than half of the 239 million people in need of support.      We are taking action to protect vulnerable communities, adapt to shifting realities, and improve how funding reaches those in need:      ✈️ Reforming supply chains to get aid where it needs to be faster.  ⛑️ Keeping brave aid workers safe on the front lines.  🤝 Giving local teams on the ground a greater role to save their communities.       As the provider of 35% of global humanitarian funding, we ensure our help reaches those who need it most.       Europe stands ready to protect aid workers and save lives.     Here’s how ➡️ link.europa.eu/nDr9cN

    • A close-up photo of a child's arm being measured with a color-coded malnutrition band, with the text "Saving lives has NO price tag."
  • How can Europe become better prepared for future crises?    Over the past three months, 150 randomly selected citizens from across the EU took part in a European Citizens’ Panel on Preparedness, sharing their perspectives on how to strengthen the EU’s capacity to respond to emergencies.    Last weekend in Brussels, they presented 20 recommendations covering key areas such as crisis communication, preparedness education, volunteering, resilience, self-sufficiency, inclusion, and the fight against disinformation.    Their recommendations will now feed into the implementation of the EU Preparedness Union Strategy, helping shape a more resilient and prepared Europe.    Citizen participation is at the heart of EU policymaking. By bringing together diverse voices from all 27 Member States, the European Citizens’ Panel demonstrates how citizens can contribute directly to addressing shared European challenges. 🇪🇺

  • Our commitment to protect children will never go missing. Every child deserves a safe childhood, yet many remain missing.  On this International Missing Children’s Day, we reaffirm our resolve to fight for their return.  This fight knows no borders. While we are dedicating €50 million to help return Ukrainian children taken by Russia to their families, we are also reinforcing safety closer to home: ✔ Strengthening child protection systems in the EU.  ✔ Boosting cross-border cooperation, helping police and child protection services work better together. Let's ensure every child is accounted for and kept safe.
