As July comes to a close, we're proud to reflect on another opportunity to give back to the community we call home. Throughout the month, our team at Fairmont Breakers Long Beach participated in a backpack drive supporting the Long Beach Rescue Mission, helping provide backpacks and school supplies to children in our local community as they prepare for the new school year. It's always rewarding to come together for a cause that makes a meaningful difference. Thank you to everyone who donated and helped support this initiative. The heatwave may have brought the high temperatures this week, but it also gave us another opportunity to show appreciation for the incredible people who keep Fairmont Breakers Long Beach running every day. Our Executive Committee visited every department throughout the hotel, delivering cold beverages and sweet treats to help our colleagues stay cool and remind them just how much they are valued. Hospitality is all about taking care of people—and that starts with taking care of one another. Some of the best moments are the simple ones: stopping to connect, sharing a laugh, expressing gratitude, and recognizing the hard work that happens behind the scenes every single day. In celebration of the World Cup kickoff, our team came together to support the Mexico match, enjoy a build-your-own elote bar, and test their skills in a "best kick" raffle challenge. One of the best parts of events like these is seeing colleagues proudly represent their countries, share their team spirit, and come together through a shared love of the game. This weekend, our team had the opportunity to support a great cause by participating in the Steps for Vets 5K. Coming just after Memorial Day, it was a meaningful way to honor our veterans while staying active and supporting one another as a team. Steps for Vets is dedicated to helping veterans access critical resources and prevent homelessness, ensuring those who have served our country receive the support they deserve.
