The New York Liberty and Gallagher welcomed representatives from Mixteca, one of the community partners in this year's Own My Future cohort, on court at a Liberty game last week. We proudly presented them with a $10,000 check to support their work with the Mexican and Latin American immigrant community in New York City. Own My Future is a leadership initiative created by the New York Liberty and Gallagher that empowers girls and gender-expansive youth in NYC to become the next generation of leaders. In the program's second year, girls from three local nonprofits spent four sessions learning to recognize their strengths and translate them into practical negotiation and community impact skills.
