This back-to-school season, we were proud to partner with The Education Partnership, Shoes and Clothes for Kids, United Way of Central Ohio, Pittsburgh Public Schools, WPXI-TV, FOX 8 Cleveland, WCMH-TV, NBC4, nbc4i.com, and the Pittsburgh Steelers to help connect students and families with the resources they need for a successful school year. From donation drives and supply distributions to Team Member-led collections, these efforts helped support hundreds of students and families across Pittsburgh, Cleveland, and Columbus.    Thank you to our partners, volunteers, and Team Members for helping make a difference in the communities we serve. Going Bananas in Latrobe 🍌🍨 National Banana Split Day was extra sweet this year as Team Members joined the fun at the Great American Banana Split Celebration in Latrobe, Pennsylvania, the birthplace of the banana split!   As proud co-sponsors of the event, we partnered with Dole to help bring the celebration to life, including sharing a booth where festivalgoers could stop by and enjoy a free banana. Together, we handed out more than 6,000 Dole bananas while supporting a beloved local tradition that brings the Latrobe community together each year.   From meeting banana lovers alongside Bobby Banana to celebrating the town's unique connection to banana split history, the event was a fun reminder of the connections we build through moments like these and the communities we serve every day… because it matters.

This summer, we partnered with Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank, Children's Hunger Alliance, Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank, Cleveland Cavaliers, and The J.M. Smucker Co. to help bridge the summer meal gap for children and families across the communities we serve. As our 2026 Intern Development Program comes to a close, we want to extend a heartfelt thank you to our incredible interns and the mentors who dedicated their time, knowledge, and support throughout the past 10 weeks. Our internship program is designed to provide practical experience, meaningful projects, and opportunities to learn from experienced Team Members, all made possible through the commitment of our mentors. And a special thank you to Program Manager, Natalie Brandon! We're proud of our interns’ accomplishments this summer and are appreciative for the fresh ideas and energy they brought to our business. Yesterday was an exciting day for Giant Eagle as we officially unveiled our newly remodeled Cranberry and West View locations! Yesterday's remodel celebrations gave team members, customers, and community partners the chance to experience the new look and feel firsthand, featuring a clean, contemporary décor package, enhanced shopping environments, and a renewed commitment to serving our neighborhoods. One of the biggest stars of the day? The Giant Buggy, which rolled into both locations to help mark the occasion and create some memorable moments for guests and Team Members alike. Thank you to everyone who joined us to celebrate this exciting milestone. We're proud to invest in our stores, our communities, and the shopping experience our customers deserve.
