What happens when food becomes a bridge between cultures, memories, and the people who make Great Performances what it is? For our September Food Festival, we’re highlighting Sonia Usmar and her take on Moqueca, a vibrant Brazilian seafood stew with deep connections to West African and Caribbean culinary traditions. For Sonia, this dish is more than a recipe. Featured dendê oil brings back memories of her West African upbringing, while coconut connects to the West Indian food traditions and Jamaican cuisine she’s encountered throughout her travels. It’s a beautiful reminder that food can carry history, and that sometimes, different culinary traditions have more in common than we realize. And, as always, we’re bringing things back to the farm. Looking back on a busy week: Goalkeepers 2026 at Jazz at Lincoln Center ✨ From meaningful meetings and conversations to the final reception, our team was behind the scenes at Jazz at Lincoln Center for Goalkeepers 2026 last Monday! Featuring some of our most beloved food activations, such as our Pan-African Station in collaboration with Eat Off-Beat and new Dubai-inspired market stall, the day’s menu incorporated inspiration from across the globe. 🌎 Our incredible staff made sure every guest was thoughtfully cared for throughout the entire day and evening, whether it be via food, hospitality, or exceptional service. 🥘 Events of this scale are a true team effort.
