More than half a century after Apollo, humanity is returning to the Moon, and this time we're going to stay. Staying means landing pads, roads, power, and habitats, built by robotics and humans working together. ICON is the global leader in construction automation, developing robotics, intelligent software systems, and advanced materials that are changing the way the world builds on Earth and beyond. It's time to go to the moon. --> www.iconprime.com

When I was in Congress, I was involved in endless debates about what America should do next in space. Mars? Back to the Moon? What comes after the International Space Station? Last week at Payload’s OffWorld Summit in Houston, it struck me how fundamentally that conversation has shifted. The most critical question isn’t just "Where do we go next?" It’s: What does it take to stay? If humanity is going to establish a permanent presence on the Moon, how large will that footprint eventually become? Four people? Ten? A hundred? A thousand? Going from four astronauts in a lander to a thousand people living off-world changes the engineering problem entirely. You need power grids. Communications networks. Autonomous transportation. Dust-proof landing pads. Roads. Habitats. And crucially—an in-situ economy that builds with what’s already there, rather than shipping every single pound of material 240,000 miles from Earth. For a long time, space exploration was about getting somewhere no one had ever been before. The next era is about building enough infrastructure so humanity can stay. That’s a very different challenge—and the one that defines the future of aerospace.

We are proud to announce that TIME named ICON co-founder and CEO Jason Ballard to the inaugural ‘TIME Trailblazers: Designing and Making the Future’ list recognizing an exclusive group of architects, engineers, founders, technologists, and builders whose work is expanding what is possible across housing, infrastructure, climate adaptation, mobility, and public health. We are deeply proud of this recognition and grateful to TIME for shining a light on the builders, engineers, and makers who are doing the hard, necessary work of designing a better future. From foundation to finish. 4 bedrooms. 3.5 bathrooms. 4,115 square feet. ICON has reimagined construction from the ground up: the robotics, the materials, the architecture, and the software intelligence that ties it all together. FormCrete, ICON's proprietary low-carbon concrete, forms structures that are stronger and more resilient than conventional builds. The design language evolves with the technology. This isn't an adaptation of how we've always built. It's a new system entirely. --> iconbuild.com

Speaker announcement: Will Hurd, Division President of ICON Prime, is joining us at Off World. ICON Prime is ICON's new defense and space unit, applying the company's robotic 3D-printing construction technology to military infrastructure and NASA's lunar building efforts. Hurd previously represented Texas in Congress and served as a CIA officer. Catch him September 23-24 at Space Center Houston. Buy tickets: https://lnkd.in/g4d9SGHy

Fort Bliss, U.S Soldiers are moving into the largest robotic construction deployment in Department of War history: ten barracks, 78,000+ square feet, housing up to 560 service members. All ten structures were printed in 58 days and delivered in seven months, delivering four times faster than traditional military construction and 9.3% below the USACE benchmark, creating a cost savings for the Army an estimated $5.2 million. "Ten barracks, 560 beds, six months. That is not an incremental improvement, that is a fundamentally different way to build readiness," Will Hurd, President of ICON Prime. This is what it looks like to rebuild military readiness at the speed and quality modern operations demand. --> https://iconprime.com/

ICON is changing the way the world builds, and we're hiring a Digital Experience Developer II to own the technical engine behind how that story gets told online. This role lives at the intersection of marketing and engineering, part site reliability, part feature builder, part data infrastructure. You'll own iconbuild.com end to end: performance, tracking, dashboards, new pages, and the integrations that tie it all together. When marketing has an idea, you're the one who makes it real. When something breaks, you find it before anyone else does. There's also a genuine engineering dimension here. When web priorities allow, you'll contribute directly to ICON's software team from backend support and internal tooling to code reviews. It's a rare setup that makes you fluent in both worlds. If you're a developer who cares about craft, has deep hands-on experience with GA4 and GTM, and wants to work for a company building intelligent machines for humanity's future on Earth and beyond, apply at the link below. https://lnkd.in/gciARDAx

The Axios Austin newsletter today featured ICON and the homes we've built across Texas, plus it looks ahead at where robotic construction is going. There's also a moving piece on Tim Shea, believed to be the first person to ever live in a 3D-printed home, who passed away in January and was honored by the Mobile Loaves & Fishes CFV community.
