About us
The distance between dreaming and being is a gap far too wide to cross alone. As a women's organization, Kappa has helped many women get from here to there. For more than one hundred forty years, we’ve provided programs, leadership opportunities and most importantly, the unwavering support of loyal sisters to help our members cross that bridge from dreams to reality.

What do the Beekman Tower in New York City and the women’s movement have in common? Kappa, of course! Dr. Mary Osborne, Monmouth, illuminates the historic magnitude of this gorgeous Art Deco building that served as a home for young Panhellenic women after opening in the 1920s. Mary also introduces readers to Emily Eaton Hepburn, St. Lawrence, the trailblazing Kappa who helped make Beekman Tower a reality. 🔗 Step into the rich history of this iconic building and its Kappa connections: bit.ly/BeekmanTower A shoutout to the Kappa Foundation for committing to fund the preservation of and research into Kappa history such as this.

Making #MentalHealthMonday extra special! 💙 Thanks to Lauren for sharing her experience at Abercombie and Fitch's The Challenge, supporting The Jed Foundation (JED), and reflecting on what Kappa’s philanthropy means to her. #LivesFullyLived #KappaForMentalHealth
Last Friday was one of those days that reminded me just how powerful it can be when people come together around something bigger than themselves. Mental health and well-being have always been incredibly important to me, so joining Kappa Kappa Gamma’s professional staff and learning that our philanthropic focus is centered on inspiring positive change in this space has made my work feel especially meaningful. At Kappa, we are committed to becoming powerful advocates for mental health and well-being and to living fully in the service of others. Through six incredible philanthropic partners, we are working to better understand these needs and support organizations that are approaching this work with compassion, authenticity, and respect. One of those partners is The Jed Foundation (JED), a nonprofit dedicated to protecting the emotional health of teens and young adults and preventing suicide. JED works alongside high schools and colleges to strengthen mental health, substance misuse, and suicide prevention programs, while equipping young people with the knowledge and skills to support themselves and one another. JED is also one of Abercrombie & Fitch Co.'s six impact partners, which made being invited as their guest to The Challenge in Columbus an especially meaningful experience for me. I am incredibly proud to advocate for an organization whose mission aligns so closely with something I care deeply about. Watching Columbus and communities beyond come together to raise more than $11 million in support of the mental health and well-being of future generations is something I won’t soon forget. The concert was a pretty incredible bonus, too! Grateful to have spent the evening surrounded by people who believe that we can create meaningful change when we show up, speak up, and support one another. Here’s to continuing the conversation, breaking down stigma, and creating a world where asking for help is met with understanding and support!
