Most browser-based lateral movement doesn't need a zero-day. It needs one click. 𝗖𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗸𝗙𝗶𝘅: fake CAPTCHA populates the clipboard with malicious commands. User pastes into a terminal. Endpoint compromised. 𝗙𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝘀𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀: fake alert page pushes a "Microsoft Support" number. User calls. Attacker walks them through installing remote access software, hands-on-keyboard, over the phone. Different attacks, same shape: both start in a browser tab, both stay there until the user does one thing, both exit the browser at that exact moment.
