  • At King Law, we believe that strong communities depend on meaningful access to legal services. That is why we are proud to sponsor the 2026 Pisgah Legal Services Justice Forum, an annual event that raises awareness and support for civil legal aid throughout Western North Carolina. This year's forum, taking place this evening in Asheville, will feature journalist and author Brian Goldstone in a discussion focused on poverty and housing insecurity. Through his service on the Pisgah Legal Services Board of Directors, Brian King has helped support the organization's mission to provide legal assistance to those who need it most, including veterans, families facing housing instability, and communities continuing to recover from Hurricane Helene. We are honored to support an organization whose work reflects the legal profession's broader responsibility to serve not only clients, but our communities.

A Texas law firm spent months trying to make their phone company's "AI receptionist" work for client intake. It could answer calls. It just couldn't tell a prospective client from opposing counsel, or a new lead from an existing case calling back. The managing partner lost confidence before it ever took a real call. That's the gap most law firms don't see until it's expensive. A built-in AI receptionist is a feature of the phone system – it answers and routes calls the same way for a dental office, a recruiting firm, or a law practice. Specialized AI legal intake is a different job. It has to: → Qualify the caller and route by practice area → Keep new leads and active matters separate (without turning your CRM into a mess) → Catch urgency – a detained client's family at 2am is not a "leave a message" call → Stay inside bar disclosure and professional-responsibility rules the entire time The cost of getting this wrong isn't hypothetical. Only 40% of law firms answer a prospective client's call at all. Firms that fixed their intake saw it show up in the numbers – King Law Offices added 489 leads a month, Modern Law grew new client matters 57%. We wrote up a full comparison: what a generic AI receptionist built into the phone system actually does, the objections lawyers raise most often (cost, AI hallucinations, "we've been burned by AI before"), and what specialized AI intake for law firms looks like once it's actually running.   #LegalTech #AIAcceleratedLegalServices #ClientIntake #AI

  • Another sign of growth at King Law—literally! Our new signage is up at our Knoxville office, and progress continues as we prepare to move into the new space. Expanding into Knoxville is an exciting step in King Law’s continued growth throughout the Southeast. More than adding another location, this expansion means building new relationships, growing our team, and creating more opportunities to serve clients and communities throughout East Tennessee. We’re looking forward to officially calling Knoxville home soon.

  • Sometimes a first job in a law firm becomes the beginning of something much bigger. As a Client Services Representative at King Law, Seth Cooper is often one of the first connections prospective clients make with our firm. From incoming calls and emails to website and chat inquiries, Seth helps people take that first step toward connecting with our legal teams. He has built a reputation within our team for being hardworking, dependable, and willing to go above and beyond—qualities that matter in a role responsible for creating an important first impression for our clients. But Seth is also looking ahead. He plans to continue his education, attend law school, and further his career in the legal profession. One of the things we value at King Law is creating opportunities for people to learn the business, develop professionally, take on new challenges, and envision what their next step could look like. As our firm grows, we want our people to have opportunities to grow with us. We’re proud to have Seth on our team today and excited to see where his career takes him next.

  • Thorough preparation can change the course of a case. After a King Law client was charged with felony possession of a Schedule II controlled substance following an overdose, Criminal PAG Associate Attorney Peyton Taylor closely reviewed the evidence, discovery, and relevant case law. Peyton determined that her client qualified for limited immunity as an overdose victim and successfully advocated for the charge to be dismissed in July and expunged in August. It's a strong example of the importance of looking beyond the initial charge and carefully examining how the law applies to the individual facts of each case.  With the Practice Area Group support and quality legal research tools, our attorneys are elevating the level of legal services provided to clients. Every case is different, and past results do not guarantee future outcomes.

  • Good client service sometimes means simply giving someone the time they need. A recent estate planning client at our King, NC office came to King Law following a terminal diagnosis, wanting to ensure her affairs were in order. Because of her medical condition, completing and later revising her documents required additional time and patience from our team. After everything was finalized, she mailed the office a handwritten note thanking them for their help and patience throughout the process. It's a simple story, but an important reminder of the kind of client experience we strive to provide at King Law: meet people where they are, treat them with compassion, and never make someone feel rushed when they're trusting us with something important.

  • The courtroom shouldn’t be the first place an attorney practices courtroom skills. At King Law, we don’t wait until a client has a case on the line to begin preparing our attorneys for the courtroom. Our in-house mock courtroom gives both new and experienced attorneys the opportunity to participate in mock trials, practice presenting arguments, work through real-world scenarios, and continually test and refine their litigation skills. This training is available across our firm and is especially valuable to our Civil Litigation and Personal Injury teams, where strong courtroom preparation can be critical. Our clients trust us with matters that can have a significant impact on their lives. We believe that trust deserves attorneys who are prepared. We train. We practice. We refine. And we keep getting better. Because when it's time to step into a real courtroom, our focus should be on our client—not practicing a skill for the first time.
