🪧🛠️ After hours of cross-team collaboration, design, and fabrication, our Advanced Prototyping Center (APC) team created a one-of-a-kind LACI sign for our new home at BATWorks in New York. While LACI has been bringing our model and programs to New York since last year, seeing a piece of our Los Angeles campus make its way across the country marked a special milestone for our team. A huge thank you to the APC team members who designed, built, and shipped the sign to New York just in time for Climate Week NYC! Many of the people who brought this project to life are graduates or trainers from LACI's workforce programs who now put those hands-on skills to work supporting founders through the prototyping process and completing job shop projects for partners like the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power. 💚 Want to help us create more opportunities like this? In recognition of #DAFDay, consider supporting LACI through your donor-advised fund. Your contribution can help the Advanced Prototyping Center provide hands-on skills training and access to cutting-edge equipment or helping founders turn ideas into working prototypes and workforce graduates build skills for careers in the green economy. 🔗 laci.la/donate-linkedin

Electrum cordially invites you to attend "Why Bidirectional EVs Will Dominate Our Energy Future" – part of #LATechWeek. There's more energy sitting in California's EVs than in every grid battery in the state combined – it's just not plugged in yet. As AI and data centers strain the grid faster than we can build new power plants, V2X — vehicle-to-everything charging — is the unlock hiding in plain sight. We're gathering in Santa Monica on October 13th for networking and a panel of Q&A with leaders from GM Energy, Kia America, and Los Angeles Department of Water and Power shaping how V2X will impact the future of energy. This event is a part of #LATechWeek—a week of events hosted by VCs and startups to bring together the tech ecosystem. Details and registration at the link below. From leading conversations on state and city climate leadership to startup scaling and adoption, the LACI team spent Climate Week NYC connecting with partners, founders, policymakers, and climate leaders from across the country. Here are a few highlights: ☀️ Fostering State & City Level Support for Climate Innovation In partnership with NYSERDA, the California Energy Commission (CEC), and Massachusetts Clean Energy Center (MassCEC) we explored how collaboration across cities and states can effectively drive new technology & process innovation. 🚀 The Climate Registry's CA Climate Leadership Forum The forum provided a wonderful opportunity to share a bit about LACI's unique model, and to engage thought leaders who are driving policy, innovation, and impact for communities in CA and beyond, including Kate Gordon from California Forward and Lara Cottingham from the Foundation for Energy Security and Innovation (FESI). 📈 Beyond the Pilot: Securing Corporate Adoption In partnership with Urban Future Lab (UFL) at NYU Tandon School of Engineering, we brought startups and corporate leaders together to explore what it takes to move climate solutions beyond the pilot stage and toward widespread adoption. Throughout the week, the team supported events hosted by our portfolio companies, attended various ecosystem partner events, and connected New York team at BATWorks! Overall, Climate Week NYC provided so many new connections from across the US and reminded us that together with our partners, we can continue to progress toward our sustainability goals.
