For Kenia, softball was more than a sport — it was her safe space, her reset button, and ultimately her launchpad. A proud Dodgers Dreamteam alumna, Kenia’s story is one of perseverance, purpose and the powerful impact of community. In her final season in 2018, Kenia and her teammates traveled to Minnesota to compete in the Nike RBI World Series. Fully funded by LADF, the experience was unforgettable. This weekend, three Dodgers Dreamteam teams will follow in Kenia’s footsteps as they head to Seattle, Washington, to compete in the Nike RBI West Regional Tournament. #BiggerThanBaseball https://lnkd.in/guTKupre

About us
The Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation (LADF) tackles the most pressing problems facing Los Angeles with a mission to improve education, health care, homelessness, and social justice for all Angelenos. Reimagined in 2013, LADF has since raised over $204 million, including a $100 million pledge in 2024 by its Chairman Mark Walter and Dodgers Ownership, marking the largest contribution ever from an MLB ownership group to the organization’s charitable partner. Under its new strategic plan, “Lasting Impact for Los Angeles,” LADF is amplifying best practices, scaling solutions, growing its capacity and refining its work with investments exceeding $63.5 million in its programs and grants to local organizations. To date, LADF has positively impacted over 10 million youth. LADF is the proud recipient of ESPN's Sports Humanitarian Team of the Year, Robert Wood Johnson Sports Award, Beyond Sport's Sport for Reduced Racial Inequalities Collective Impact Award, and the Aspen Institute Project Play Champion.

At the Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation (LADF), storytelling isn't just about what we say — it’s about what we can show. That’s why LADF is proud to have been selected for UpMetrics' Advanced Analytics early access program, to explore the future of nonprofit data analysis through Advanced Analytics Dashboards and provide testing feedback for the functionality. From now through early August, we will test cutting-edge data visualization tools on the UpMetrics 3.0 platform. These new dashboards will help our team uncover trends, compare impact across programs, and better illustrate the real-world outcomes of our work — from increasing access to sports to improving educational equity. This pilot represents a major step forward in how we analyze, communicate, and learn from our impact data. While the core Evaluation & Impact team of Kerry Klima, Ph.D. and Luke Purcella, MSBA will lead the development and testing of the new advanced dashboards, all team members can continue accessing our existing basic dashboards and contributing to qualitative stories that bring the numbers to life. “Advanced analytics allows us to move from reporting what we do to understanding why and how our programs make a difference,” said Kerry Klima, Ph.D. - Director, Evaluation & Impact. “This is about asking smarter questions and driving even smarter decisions.” As LADF grows its reach, investments, and accountability, data plays an increasingly important role in making sure every dollar, partnership, and program delivers measurable, lasting impact for Los Angeles communities. Stay tuned as we explore new ways to visualize and share the stories behind the stats — all in service of our vision to build a Los Angeles where every Angeleno, regardless of ZIP code, has the opportunity to thrive.

The Los Angeles Regional Food Bank is proud to partner with the Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation through a grant supporting our BackPack Program in Pasadena and Altadena elementary schools. This initiative provides children with nutritious, easy-to-prepare food to take home on weekends—ensuring they return to school ready to learn and thrive. We are grateful to the Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation for their continued commitment to the well-being of young learners and for helping us move closer to a hunger-free Los Angeles County.

Yesterday we join the groundbreaking ceremony for the new @Dodgers #Dreamfield in Nickerson Gardens in Watts. My colleague Vera Stewart and I, joined #EllenKershaw, and other community partners to celebrate an initiative, sponsored by Bank of America, to transform outdoor spaces that will foster belonging, confidence, and joy for 1,700 youth who live in this community. Dodgers Dreamfields offer a safe place for youth to engage in positive recreational activities within their own neighborhoods, providing children and their families with functional green spaces they can take pride in. We’re proud to help invest in that kind of future and help build stronger communities. #StrongerCommunities #BofA #Dodgers #KershawChallenge Bank of America

“Oh, they’re going to take so much home in addition to the shoes today. They’re going to know that the Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation completely supports them. Shoes That Fit cares about them. They’re going to realize that the community is behind them to really make sure that they focus on their resilience and getting over this impact of the fire and just becoming stronger students,” said Kristin Forrest, principal of Webster Elementary School.
