18 stores. And now finally, home. Over the last few weeks, the question I got asked the most was whether I was nervous about opening a Goldies in my hometown of Aachen. And honestly, my answer was always pretty unspectacular: not really. Not because this opening didn’t mean a lot to me — quite the opposite. But when you have strong routines, an incredible team behind you, and partners like Vladislav Gachyn and Kajo, there’s not that much room left for nervousness. At least that’s what I thought. Because the moment the doors opened and I saw all the familiar faces — family, friends, old classmates, people who’ve been part of my journey long before Goldies even existed — it suddenly hit me what a special moment this actually was. And I have to admit: it made me incredibly proud. Aachen is a city I owe a lot to. Which makes it even more special that our 18th store is now right here — in the heart of the city, directly at the Aachener Markt, probably one of the most beautiful places Aachen has to offer. Colors inspired by the city. Amazing energy from the team. Doors officially open. Goldies Aachen is here. ❤️ - 18 Stores. Jetzt auch zuhause. Die letzten Wochen wurde ich wahrscheinlich am häufigsten gefragt, ob ich aufgeregt bin, endlich auch in meiner Heimatstadt Aachen einen Goldies zu eröffnen. Und ehrlich gesagt war meine Antwort immer ziemlich unspektakulär: nicht wirklich. Nicht, weil mir dieser Store egal wäre — ganz im Gegenteil. Aber mit einem starken Team, eingespielten Abläufen und Partnern wie Vladi und Kajo bleibt für Nervosität irgendwann gar nicht mehr so viel Platz. Bis zur Eröffnung. Als ich plötzlich all die bekannten Gesichter gesehen habe — Familie, Freunde, alte Schulfreunde, Weggefährten — Menschen, die mich teilweise schon kannten, lange bevor es Goldies überhaupt gab, hat sich das alles zum ersten Mal real angefühlt. Und ich muss sagen: Das hat mich mehr berührt als erwartet. Aachen ist die Stadt, der ich unglaublich viel zu verdanken habe. Umso besonderer fühlt es sich an, jetzt genau hier unseren 18. Store eröffnet zu haben — mitten am Aachener Markt, wahrscheinlich dem schönsten Fleck dieser Stadt. Die Farben passend zu Aachen. Das Team voller Energie. Der Laden offen. Goldies Aachen ist da. ❤️

WELCOME TO THE GROUP CHAT PICKL MUSCAT! This was a full 7 years in the making. The guys down in Oman slid in to my DMs back in August 2019 just after I'd opened the first Pickl store in JLT. I shot them down with a 'we're not ready to franchise' reply. I mean, I literally had one restaurant at the time and was currently the manager, the supply chain, the cleaner, the cook, the accountant, the PRO. Zero chance of going to Muscat back then. Whilst Oman wasn't our first international market, that prize went to Bahrain, they surely won't be the last. This marks Pickl's 7th international market presence with a strong pipeline of growth for the brand over the coming 12 months. Massive shoutout to our partners at MENA Foods in Muscat for 7 years of persistence to get brands in to the market, you're really doing an incredible job in the Oman.
