A close-knit team matters when much of your work happens out in the community. Jane Byrd says that even when teams work in different places, colleagues find moments to come together and help one another. They make time to connect in person, too. If that sounds like the kind of team you'd like to join, explore opportunities: https://ow.ly/QhMK50ZR5xM

Meet the people we're celebrating on October 15th 🏆 This year's Merakey Leading the Way Award recognizes Mark Taglianetti and Ed Scott of Life Tree Pharmacy for their decades of leadership and commitment to improving care for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, behavioral health needs and other complex healthcare challenges. Together, Mark and Ed have truly led the way, helping advance patient-centered care through clinical excellence, collaboration and strong partnerships across the healthcare continuum... a powerful example of The Power of Us in action! We're also celebrating Zacharia Etisi, Oluwafemi Olayiwola Adeyemi and Jeyfred Obeng-Asante, recipients of the Egan Courage Award, whose teamwork and dedication embody the spirit of courage, care and the Power of Us. Through trauma-informed care, advocacy and a deep commitment to understanding an individual's unique needs, they helped transform the life of a nonverbal individual on the autism spectrum with significant support needs. By listening beyond words, they empowered him to express himself with greater confidence and dignity. Their efforts helped him transition into his own apartment, build trust, explore new experiences and become an active member of his community. Their work is a testament to the heart and soul our Direct Support Professionals, Program Leads and so many others put into exceptional care and the power of believing in someone's potential. We're getting excited to gather together and celebrate these outstanding individuals and the difference they make on October 15th, the countdown is on!

Eugene, an individual who resides at Verree Road in Philadelphia, recently completed a home visit with his mother. With the help of an amazing Merakey AVS staff, Eugene selected colorful flowers to give to his mother upon arrival. Judging by the look on their faces, both his presence and the flowers brought smiles all around. Following the visit, pictures taken of the day were placed into a collage and framed for Eugene and his mom to proudly display.

This afternoon, Merakey was proud to join Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs (DDAP) Secretary Dr. Latika Davis-Jones, Mayor Cherelle Parker and Philadelphia city officials to unveil the city’s first mobile licensed narcotic treatment program. The RV-style mobile treatment center is designed to bring essential services directly to underserved communities throughout Philadelphia, including methadone and other medications, counseling, wound care, medication maintenance and connections to long-term treatment and support services. The launch marks an important step in expanding access to care and support for individuals impacted by substance use disorder (SUD). We're so grateful to be a part of expanding access to SUD treatment in Philadelphia. Thank you City of Philadelphia and Pennsylvania Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs!
