About us
Mission Action is a community-based nonprofit rooted in San Francisco’s Mission District, working alongside low-income and immigrant communities to build stability, dignity, and opportunity. Our work is grounded in meeting people where they are while addressing the systemic barriers that impact housing, immigration status, economic security, and overall well-being. Through culturally responsive, trauma-informed programs, we support families, adults, and transitional-age youth experiencing homelessness or housing instability, provide immigration and deportation defense support, expand access to food and basic needs, and invest in workforce development and worker-owned cooperative models that create pathways to long-term economic mobility. At Mission Action, we believe lasting change happens when communities are resourced, organized, and empowered. By combining direct services, advocacy, and leadership development, we work to ensure our communities not only survive but thrive.

Join us for a memorable night celebrating the power of community, compassion, and collective action. Enjoy drinks, meaningful connection, and an inspiring art auction while helping raise funds for three vital LGBTQ+ programs: Cohen Residence, providing transitional housing for adults living with HIV/AIDS; Jazzie’s Place, a safe and affirming shelter for LGBTQ+ adults experiencing homelessness; and Arcoíris Market, providing culturally relevant food and essentials to LGBTQ+ and immigrant community members.
