Thank you to all the employees who stopped by our annual Employee Benefits & Wellness Fair today. The event brought together our Benefits, Wellness, Leave, ADA, and Employee Assistance Program teams to help employees learn more about the resources available to support their health, well-being, and work-life balance. Employees also had the opportunity to receive free flu and COVID-19 vaccinations ahead of the colder months. Special thanks to all the vendors who also joined including TriMet, Kaiser Permanente, The Standard and Voya Financial. Thank you to everyone who joined staff Ellen Wyoming DeLoy from our Office of Community Involvement this summer to learn more about the Charter Review Committee through a series of in-person and virtual informational sessions. Every six years, community members get a unique opportunity to take a closer look at the County’s governing charter — essentially Multnomah County’s local constitution — and recommend changes that could ultimately go before voters. The next review is coming up, and there’s still time to be part of it. The application deadline to serve on the next Charter Review Committee has been extended to Thursday, Oct. 8! Committee members will study the charter, hear from the community and consider potential updates for the November 2028 ballot. Want to help shape how your County government works? A summer celebration with a meaningful mission ☀️ 💛 Last month, Multnomah County’s Healthy Birth Initiatives brought families together at Peninsula Park for its annual Summer Celebration & Graduation — a day filled with face painting, henna art, games, food, music, prizes and plenty of joy. Healthy Birth Initiatives supports Black and African American parents and families before, during and between pregnancies, working to address disparities in infant mortality and low birth weight and help give every baby a healthy start 🍼
