Transition: complete. The Odys Aviation team has been heads down throughout 2024. A couple of weeks ago, at Mojave Airport in California, we achieved transition of our sub-scale aircraft. We’ve now built and flown nine aircraft prototypes over the past 24 months - seven sub-scale and two full-scale. Why? We test at full-scale on test rigs, in wind tunnels and in flight tests to validate aerodynamic models, physics, and critical performance metrics. We test at sub-scale to optimize resources - iterating 4X faster and at 1/10th the cost. This enables us to shorten our overall development timelines and be ultra capital-efficient. And this approach is building customer confidence. We have now signed over $230m in firm aircraft orders, with accompanying deposits for our aircraft. Simultaneously, we’ve deepened our relationships with the DoD and won a recent $2m contract with the US Navy. And 2024 isn’t over yet. We look forward to sharing more updates on our partnerships and market expansion before the year is out. Watch the video by Bennett Moore and West Ghost to see the flight. #AAM #hybridaviation #VTOL #advancedairmobility #futureofflight #progress #aviation #technology

We’re hiring a Lead Engineer for Fly-by-Wire & Avionics, and we’re looking for a real product owner: someone who can define the system, help build the architecture, and make it fly. If you live at the intersection of flight control, real-time software, and cutting-edge avionics hardware then this role is for you. . You’ll lead the development of our Fly-by-Wire system from the ground up, integrating everything from smart actuation to GCS, comms, payloads, and vision-based automation. This isn’t a paper-pushing role - it’s hands-on, highly technical, and deeply integrated with the full aircraft development process. We need someone who can: - Architect fault-tolerant flight control systems - Own avionics hardware and interface integration - Coordinate across GNC, software, safety, and suppliers - Drive real testing - from SIL/HIL to flight campaigns You’ll have direct influence over platform performance, safety, and certification strategy - including our roadmap toward EASA SAIL 4. If you’ve led real-world, certifiable avionics programs, and you’re ready to build at the frontier of electric and autonomous flight, we’d love to talk. 🔗 Apply here: https://lnkd.in/gPc5PyPQ #FlyByWire #Avionics #OdysAviation #flightcontrols #cleanskies #aerospaceengineering #futureofflight #UAVsystems #productownership #hardwareintegration #hiring

Team Odys showed up and showed out at this year’s #AerospaceGames - a day of fun, fierce (but friendly!) competition, and serious team spirit alongside our peers from across the Los Angeles #aerospace community. From volleyball serves to tug-of-war grit, we brought the energy and made some great memories out on the beach. Huge congratulations to our friends at SpaceX for taking home the overall win - well earned! Events like these remind us how important it is to take a break from the hangar and the office, and reconnect with our teammates and our industry in a different kind of arena. The camaraderie and the teamwork - it’s what powers us all just as much as engineering and innovation do. Thanks to the organizers for an incredible event. Until next summer! #OdysAviation #AerospaceGames #TeamOdys #AerospaceCommunity #SpaceX #FutureOfFlight

Intern Spotlight Series: Meet Serge Jean Abajian We're proud this week to highlight Serge Abajian, a member of our Aerodynamics team at Odys Aviation who is helping shape how our aircraft performs across all phases of flight. Serge holds a B.E. in Mechanical Engineering from the Lebanese American University and is currently pursuing a Master’s in Aerospace Engineering at University of Southern California, with a focus on Fluid Dynamics. At Odys, Serge is working on high-fidelity aerodynamic modeling—particularly during the critical transition phases of flight. His work helps ensure that our hybrid-electric aircraft is not only efficient, but also stable and high-performing throughout its flight envelope. Before joining Odys, Serge gained hands-on experience as an Aerodynamics Engineer at CSIE in Armenia, further sharpening his skills in applied CFD and flight physics. With his international background and advanced technical expertise, Serge is a vital part of our mission to reimagine air travel. #OdysAviation #InternSpotlight #Aerodynamics #AerospaceEngineering #FluidDynamics #HybridElectricAircraft #SustainableAviation #USC #FutureOfFlight #CFD #STEM #internship

We’re hiring a Head of Flight Test at Odys Aviation — and this role is central to everything we’re building. As we scale our hybrid-electric cargo UAVs toward full operational deployment and qualification under EASA SAIL 4, we're looking for a seasoned flight-test leader to architect and execute a complete flight-test program — from envelope expansion to control law refinement to final design verification. This is not a role for a passenger. You’ll be in the pilot seat of our technical and operational progress: - Authoring test plans and technical reports regulators will read - Turning raw telemetry into performance proof - Working side-by-side with GNC, structures, avionics, propulsion and airworthiness teams - Leading the people and processes that will take us across the finish line If you’ve led envelope-expansion or certification-level test programs — especially for large highly-automated BVLOS aircraft — this is a chance to shape a next-gen platform and help redefine what sustainable regional air mobility looks like. Here’s the role: 🔗 https://lnkd.in/gKy3DaYQ If you’re that rare mix of technical depth, test discipline, and leadership — or know someone who is — send them our way. We're building a world-class flight program and need the very best. #flighttest #futureofflight #OdysAviation #aerospaceengineering #hiring

We’re hiring a Senior Flight Controls Engineer at Odys Aviation — and this role is all about shaping how our aircraft actually flies. Our Flight Dynamics & Controls team is responsible for the algorithms that make our UAVs precise, stable, and responsive. As a senior member of this team, you’ll design and tune control laws, refine our autopilot and guidance systems, and work across simulation, HIL, and flight test environments to bring our aircraft to life. This is a deeply technical, hands-on role where you’ll see your work go from code to cockpit — fast. You’ll thrive here if you: - Have 5+ years designing and testing flight control systems for UAVs - Love iterating between model-based design and real-world flight test - Know your way around FBW architectures, state estimation, and embedded control - Want your algorithms flying on a real aircraft, not buried in a report We’re building a high-performance team to match a high-performance aircraft. If you’ve worked on certified systems, vertical flight, or UAV guidance in safety-critical environments — we’d love to talk. Here’s the role: 🔗 https://lnkd.in/g7_8P4hX If this sounds like you — or someone brilliant you know — reach out or send them our way. #flighttest #futureofflight #OdysAviation #aerospaceengineering #cleanskies
