We're in business to save our home planet.

About us

Founded by Yvon Chouinard in 1973, Patagonia is an outdoor apparel company based in Ventura, California. A certified B-Corporation, Patagonia’s mission is to save our home planet. The company is recognized internationally for its commitment to authentic product quality and environmental activism, donating 1% of sales annually, contributing over $100 million in grants and in-kind donations since 1985. We’re always looking for motivated people to join us in our retail stores; at our Ventura, California headquarters; Reno, Nevada Service Center; and occasionally in our overseas offices. We’re especially interested if you love spending as much time as possible in the mountains or the wild, feel more at home in a base camp or on the river than an office, and have a passion for something outside of yourself, whether for surfing or opera, climbing or gardening, skiing or community activism. Learn more about who we are and how we hire by visiting our Careers website at http://www.patagonia.com/us/careers.

A few reasons why we’re rewarding you to engage your friends and family this election season: Friend-to-friend outreach works better than reaching out to strangers→ In a world flooded with political ads and misinformation, people trust friends and family most. That's why sharing voting information with our peers is one of the most effective ways to encourage voting. Making a plan to vote increases the likelihood of following through→ By helping friends make plans to vote and providing accurate information about when and where to cast their ballots, we boost the chances of follow-through. Rewarding voter outreach allows more people to take part→Time is valuable. By rewarding people for the efforts involved in helping their friends make plans to vote, we reduce barriers to participation and reach more voters from different backgrounds. Democracy works when we do→In an ideal world, rewards wouldn't be necessary. But at a time when our democracy is under threat, offering $100 Patagonia credits is simply our way of saying thanks. Whether you donate your credit or spend it on gear, we hope you enjoy getting your people to the polls. Get started at https://lnkd.in/eXeqbwzQ be in the US to access.

Over 11.2 million registered environmental voters skipped the last election. These aren't just some far-out greens. They're people we know—and they're people we have the power to reach. Introducing the 11.2 Million Vote Project. From now through Election Day, we've got up to $11.2M to give away in $100 Patagonia credits to folks in the US who help three friends make plans to vote. It doesn't matter whether you've ever voted (shhh!) or which party lines you fall on (if any). Just get out the damn vote, and we'll throw you a small gift for doing your part. Each $100 credit is redeemable for store or online purchase, or if you're good on gear, you can donate it to the League of Conservation Voters. Earlier this month, we announced a lawsuit against the Trump administration for illegally reducing Bears Ears National Monument by 91%. Since then, we’ve received lots of questions about what people can do to help. While our lawsuit is still in its early stages, the most impactful thing you can do right now is to support our nonprofit partners at the Bears Ears Inter-Tribal Coalition (BEITC), who continue to lead grassroots efforts alongside Tribal nations, local communities and conservation organizations to protect and steward Bears Ears through this uncertain time. While BEITC is not a plaintiff in the lawsuit, the nonprofit is one of the driving forces behind the historic co-management plan between Bears Ears Tribes and the federal government to protect and steward millions of acres of culturally and spiritually significant lands. Donations can be made at https://lnkd.in/eH73d27M. If you can’t donate at this time, we also offer ways to take action with BEITC on Patagonia Action Works. Thank you for your support. The family is getting bigger! We just opened a new store at the foot of the Alps, in Salzburg, Austria. We kicked off the opening with a friends and family evening followed by hikes, trail runs and creative activities. Visitors personalized clothing and tote bags with Salzburg screen-prints and patches, connected with a local NGO and enjoyed coffee while getting to know the new space. If your travels bring you to the beautiful landscapes of Salzburg, stop by and say hi!

Patagonia supports hundreds of organizations per year through grants and programs like Patagonia Action Works. We're continually inspired by the work they do and how they serve and empower their communities — on all of our behalf. In the upcoming months, we will be featuring some of those organizations. For #VoterRegistrationDay — and the first installment of our Q&A — we spoke with Matilde Davis, CVA, senior partnerships and volunteer manager at BVM Capacity Building Institute about the organization, the work they do and the most pressing issues they’re watching.
