Public Storage’s industry-leading and nationally recognized Solar Program recently achieved a huge milestone with permission to operate received for our 1,000th solar installation at a property in Hawaii, where we installed our first Solar projects in 2014. Our Solar Program has officially come full circle, but we’re not stopping here, with a plan to install Solar at 1,300 properties across 25 states by 2026. It’s an amazing accomplishment that few companies have equaled and demonstrates Public Storage’s commitment to energy independence, reducing operating costs, and driving down our carbon footprint. This is a testament to the hard work of our incredible Solar Program team, their passion for what they do and the dedication they have to this program. It’s also made possible by our wide support system, from our internal and external partners to our vendors and consultants. Congratulations to you all, and here’s to 1,000 more!

Take the Time, Thank a Veteran By Chris Sambar, Chief Operating Officer, Public Storage Have you ever thanked a military Veteran for their service? Recognized their branch, unit and detail on a hat or jacket and stopped them, looked them in the eye, offered your hand and said, “Thank you, sir/ma’am, for your service.” It’s a hard thing for some people to do, especially these days. It takes intentionality, approaching a complete stranger and striking up a conversation. But when you do, you often walk away with a smile, and you’ve most likely made their day as well. Military Veterans go unnoticed far too often. They sit in the cube next to you, stand in the grocery store line behind you or live next door and you never even know. Veterans, by nature, are humble and selfless. They proudly served and protected their country, and for them that’s enough. Others prefer to wear that pride. Are they trying to draw attention? Absolutely not. The pride you get from serving your country is profound. You belong to a brotherhood/sisterhood unlikely anything else. It’s truly humbling and deeply fulfilling. I’d like to extend my sincerest appreciation to those who have sacrificed and served to secure the liberties and freedoms that we enjoy today. And this Veterans Day, as we recognize all military Veterans who have worn our nation’s uniform, reach out to a Veteran and personally thank them. You’ll be glad you did. ****** Chris Sambar is a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy and a 23-year Veteran of military service.
