The EU Radio Equipment Directive (RED) sets strict requirements for radio devices sold into European markets. Emissions, interference immunity, cybersecurity provisions -- the full stack. A lot of telematics hardware was designed before these requirements tightened. Getting compliant isn't just a firmware update. Quake Global's devices are EU RED certified. In fact, we're third-party certified -- not self-certified. There's a difference. For OEMs selling equipment into European markets, that matters at two points: during procurement, when compliance documentation is required, and in the field, when a certification gap can stall a shipment or trigger a product recall. We did the engineering work. The certification is documented and available. If you're qualifying telematics hardware for a European deployment, that's one question already answered. What compliance certifications are most often missing from telematics hardware in your experience? Ground support equipment at a major airport doesn't stop. Baggage tugs, ground power units, pushback tractors, fuel trucks -- the fleet runs continuously, often across multiple terminals, in conditions that range from desert heat to sub-zero winters. Visibility into that fleet is an operational and safety requirement. Utilization rates determine whether you're over-equipped or running thin. Engine hours drive maintenance scheduling. Location data supports incident documentation when something goes wrong on the apron. Quake Global's telematics hardware is deployed in GSE fleets at airports and port facilities where the connectivity environment is dense, the operational demands are constant, and the margin for hardware failure is close to zero. Rugged enclosures. Multi-network connectivity. CAN interface for GSE-specific machine data. Built for the environment, not adapted to it. If you manage a GSE fleet, or critical infrastructure, or support operators who do, drop a comment. https://lnkd.in/gzRS3ZRb #GroundSupportEquipment #AviationOps #FleetTelematics #IoT #QuakeGlobal

A blood draw can be repeated. A biopsy cannot. When a pathology specimen is lost... a tissue from a cancer surgery, a lymph node excision, a biopsy from a suspicious mass... there is no re-collection. The procedure repeats if the patient can tolerate it. If they can't, the treatment plan stalls without the information it needs. The failure that leads here is almost always the same: the specimen is invisible between the surgical suite and the pathology lab. No real-time location. No automated chain of custody. A paper handoff process relying on human accuracy at every step, in an environment where clinicians are focused on the patient, not the paperwork. One of the world's leading academic medical centers worked with Quake Global to solve this. Result: 99.98% specimen labeling accuracy across nearly 100,000 lab tests. $2 million in documented annual savings. Zero irretrievably lost specimens post-implementation. Every pathology specimen is tracked from collection through final lab receipt. Every handoff documented automatically. The specimen is either where it should be, or someone knows immediately that it isn't. If your surgical suites and path lab are still relying on paper-based handoffs, it's worth a conversation. Most industrial IoT deployments are drowning in data and starving for insight. Thousands of data points streaming off equipment every hour. GPS coordinates. Engine parameters. Fault codes. Power cycles. The volume isn't the problem. The problem is that raw telemetry, without context, tells you very little about what's actually happening with your assets. Is that engine parameter reading high because of a developing failure, or because the operator just climbed a 15% grade? Is that fuel consumption spike a waste problem or a workload problem? Without the context layer, you're guessing. Quake Global’s QConnect(TM) edge computing architecture processes data at the device level before it ever reaches the cloud. Conditional logic runs on the hardware. Events are triggered by meaningful thresholds, not raw readings. What reaches your analytics platform isn't a firehose of numbers, it's structured, contextualized intelligence your systems can actually act on. The goal was never more data. It was always better decisions. The hardware layer is where that starts. The conversation about RFID tracking in hospitals usually starts in the wrong place. IT hears "new system" and starts calculating integration overhead. Biomed hears "new hardware" and starts calculating maintenance burden. Administration hears "new vendor" and starts calculating procurement cycles. Here's the reframe: Quake's QIAM and Epic integration aren't a replacement project. It is not a new system. It is a connection project that enriches what you have. The EMR is already there. The clinical workflow is already there. The specimens, the equipment, the people are already moving through the hospital. What's missing is the data layer that enriches those processes by adding location and status into systems you already paid for. Quake Global's RFID solutions are designed to feed the EMR system (such as Epic), not compete with it. Specimen tracking data flows directly into the EMR workflow. Asset location populates the systems biomed and logistics already use. The integration is the value, not an additional complexity. When hospitals evaluate Quake's tracking/location systems, the right question isn't "what does this replace?" It's "what does this connect?" Our healthcare team, including Luke Waidmann and Claudia Perez, works through exactly this conversation with hospital IT and operations leadership. The satellite vs. cellular debate in industrial telematics is the wrong question. Cellular is cheaper per message, lower latency and works well where coverage exists. Satellite reaches everywhere cellular doesn't -- remote mines, offshore platforms, open ocean, high-altitude construction. Each has a place. The problem comes when OEMs choose one architecture at design time and discover the limitation when a customer deploys in the wrong geography. Retrofitting connectivity architecture after production is expensive. Sometimes it's not possible at all. The Quake Global Q4000TM runs both. Satellite and cellular in a single device. Automatic failover when one network drops. One hardware SKU that covers global deployments without requiring your customers to manage two device types. Non-terrestrial networks are expanding fast -- Starlink's direct-to-device coverage is changing the economics of remote connectivity. OEMs who build dual-mode capability in now won't be redesigning their hardware in two years. Learn more: https://lnkd.in/gjxnD-aE #NTN #Starlink #Telematics #SatelliteIoT #OEM #QuakeGlobal

A specimen is collected. It's labeled. It moves from the procedure room to the collection point and then gets transported to the lab. Somewhere in that process, things go wrong. Failures might be: ~ Accidentally discarded with OR trash ~ Wrapped in bed sheets, sent down the laundry chute ~ Delivered to the wrong lab ~ Forgotten in a worker's pocket The average error rate in manual specimen handling in large hospitals approaches 10% -- and each error can mean lack of a diagnosis; no treatment plan; a billing dispute – or enterprise liability claim (and redrawing the specimen is just not possible). Luke Waidmann, who leads solution sales for Quake Global, has worked with hospital operations teams to map exactly where the breaks happen. The answer is almost always the same: the specimen is invisible between source and delivery to the lab. Speciment management with EMR integration changes that. Every specimen is tracked from the moment of collection through final lab receipt. Chain of custody is documented automatically. Exceptions surface in real time, not after the fact. No changes to the process workflow or tools. Just visibility where there wasn't any before. If your lab is dealing with specimen integrity issues, contact Quake – we can help. https://lnkd.in/erUuAPv9 #SpecimenTracking #HospitalOperations #LabInformatics #PassiveRFID #QuakeGlobal

Most senior living communities know how long emergency responses take. Roughly! Manual documentation is incomplete. Staff memory is inconsistent. When a family member asks "how quickly did someone respond to my mother's fall?" the honest answer is often, "we believe it was within a few minutes." That's not good enough for families. It's not defensible in a regulatory audit. And it doesn't give leadership the data they need to improve the resident’s standard of care. Quake’s CareCenter® tracks emergency calls from the moment a resident activates their wearable through the time a staff member responds and marks the event as resolved. The full timeline, and who are all documented automatically. Kelly O'Sullivan, Executive Director at a CareCenter-equipped community, described it directly: her team could "show compliance from performance reports to provide response statistics for an emergency call and resident elopement." Response time is CARE quality. Knowing it is how you improve it. Learn more: https://lnkd.in/gGt79DVT #SeniorLiving #MemoryCare #ResidentSafety #RTLS #QuakeGlobal

The most common objection to passive RTLS in hospitals: "Won't active tags give us better range and real-time location?" Yes. And for some use cases, that's the right answer. But for high-volume tracking -- thousands of specimens, surgical instruments, supply chain items -- battery-powered active tags create a maintenance problem at scale. Each tag needs a battery. Batteries die. Someone has to find them, replace them, and manage the inventory. At volume, that's an operational burden that quietly undermines the system it's supposed to support. Passive RFID tags have no battery. They draw power from the reader at the moment of interrogation. They last indefinitely, scale to any volume, and don't require maintenance programs. The question isn't "is RFID is better?" It's "what are your RTLS needs?" For specimen tracking, asset tracking, and high-volume supply chain, passive isn't a compromise. It's the right tool. Claudia Perez, our healthcare solutions team lead, has worked through this decision with hospital operations and biomed teams across the country. If you're considering an RTLS system for a high-volume clinical workflow, we're happy to walk through the comparison. Everything’s connected. Wireless communication modems. Global SIM cards. Cloud platforms with 99.9% uptime guarantees. Until your most valuable asset goes dark in the middle of the Australian outback, and you have no idea whether it's running, idle or on fire. Connectivity is easy to commoditize when conditions cooperate. The differentiation surfaces at the edges: the remote mine where cellular ends, the offshore platform where weather takes out the link, the construction project that moved 40 miles from the nearest radio tower. This is the environment Quake Global hardware was built for. Not as a theoretical resilience story -- as a literal design requirement. Satellite fallback engineered in from the start, not bolted on as an afterthought. Tested to -40C. Rated to J1455. Commoditized modem connectivity is fine until it fails. That failure point is where hardware architecture starts to matter. Learn more: https://lnkd.in/gjxnD-aE #Telematics #IndustrialIoT #SatelliteIoT #OEM #QuakeGlobal
