Stuck reminiscing about the 90s? Same... Great music... Questionable fashion... and if you were in data… there’s a good chance you cut your teeth on IBM Cognos Impromptu like I did. It helped define a generation of reporting, powerful, dependable, and for many organizations, mission-critical. No shame if you’re still running it today. But it hasn’t had a meaningful update since 2012 and the world didn’t exactly stand still (well maybe it did for a little bit around 2020). Today is real-time insights, self-service analytics, and AI-driven decision-making. Legacy reporting frameworks weren’t built for that and over time, they’ve picked up more baggage than value. So what’s next? At SQA Group, we’ve built a minimally invasive path from Impromptu to IBM Cognos Analytics, modernizing what you have without starting from scratch. If this sounds familiar, it’s probably time. Message me to learn more or send an email to the address at the end of the short motivational video below. And for the Impromptu diehards… yeah, it’s still out there doing its thing and we all should feel a little bit proud knowing this.

Is your engineering team already vibe coding? Whether you know it or not, the answer is probably yes. AI-assisted development is no longer a future trend — it's already in your developers' hands. And while the speed gains are real, so are the risks of shipping AI-generated code without the engineering discipline to back it up. Our Chief Engineer, Walter McAdams, breaks down what vibe coding actually is, why the danger isn't the AI itself, and what software leaders need to do right now to stay ahead of it. This one is worth the read if you're leading an engineering team in 2026. 👇 Full article in the comments.

AI is quietly changing what observability means for modern IT teams and the results are hard to ignore. For a long time, observability was fundamentally reactive: set thresholds, wait for alerts, investigate. AI-powered platforms are flipping that model. They analyze telemetry streams in real time, learn what "normal" looks like, and surface anomalies before they become incidents — cutting through noise and reducing the false alarms that burn out on-call engineers. What's more interesting is where this is heading beyond IT operations. Observability is increasingly being connected to actual business outcomes: ✅ Retailers are resolving quality-of-experience issues dramatically faster and cutting serious user-facing incidents by more than half ✅ B2B tech companies are using AI-driven root cause analysis to reduce dropped call rates from 11% to 4% ✅ Natural language querying and intelligent dashboards are bringing observability insights to non-technical stakeholders — not just the engineers The distinction worth paying attention to: this isn't just faster monitoring. It's infrastructure intelligence being tied directly to KPIs like sales conversion, customer retention, and operational cost. Teams that make that connection are the ones responding to market changes faster and protecting revenue more effectively. Click here to read more 🔗 https://lnkd.in/eWGFSSTA

⚠️ AI adoption is outpacing governance readiness. A recent article in CIO highlights a challenge we’re seeing firsthand with clients: most organizations know they need AI governance, but very few have reached maturity in how they actually govern it. While 75% report having a dedicated framework, only 12% describe their efforts as truly mature. Rapid deployment of AI tools, fragmented ownership, opaque models, evolving privacy expectations and cross-functional coordination all make building effective governance complex. Smart governance isn’t just about compliance — it’s about trust, risk management, and sustainable value creation as AI becomes central to operations. Click here to read more: https://lnkd.in/eJXDbqhF

AI adoption isn’t just about new tools — it’s about new signals leaders need to recognize early. A recent CIO.com piece outlines five indicators every CIO should be paying attention to right now as AI moves from experimentation into day-to-day operations. None of these signals are purely technical. They show up in how work changes, how decisions get made, and where risk quietly creeps in. Responsible for guiding AI from “interesting” to “operational?" Some of the most important leadership moments don’t end with answers — they end with better questions. In VP of Growth Strategy Carrie Majewski's latest blog, she reflects on an early ideation whiteboard experience and the leadership lesson that stuck: real innovation often starts by resisting the urge to rush to solutions. From designing the right prompts, to stepping into the role of facilitator (not decider), to building systems that allow ideas to move from possibility to execution — Carrie's blog explores what it actually takes to create space for meaningful ideation inside teams. If you’re thinking about how to protect curiosity, unlock better thinking, and build momentum without forcing premature answers, this one’s worth a read ➡️ https://lnkd.in/e9EKefEi

As organizations navigate unprecedented technological acceleration, CIOs are setting a bold agenda for 2026, balancing resilience, innovation, and scalable growth. According to CIO.com’s latest outlook on top CIO priorities, there’s a clear focus on strengthening foundations while unlocking the strategic potential of digital transformation. ✅ Cybersecurity & Data Privacy remain non-negotiable as enterprises integrate AI deeper into core workflows. Leaders are prioritizing resilient security posture and unified toolsets to combat evolving threats. ✅ Data Protection & Governance are rising to the forefront, not just to mitigate risk, but to fuel trusted innovation and responsible AI adoption. ✅ Innovation at Scale and modern enterprise architecture underscore the need for platforms that support agility, trust, and scalable growth in an AI-enabled world. We’re excited to share that Jason Londraville has joined the Society for Information Management (SIM) Central CT Chapter! For Jason, it’s about more than a membership — it’s about the people and the impact: “What really drew me to SIM is the emphasis on meaningful networking, thoughtful leadership discussions, and giving back — whether that’s through mentoring, community involvement, or supporting the next generation of technology leaders.” At SQA Group, we believe the future of technology leadership is built through shared insight, curiosity, and community, which is exactly what SIM stands for. Communities like SIM are where the next wave of technology leadership gets shaped, and we’re glad Jason is part of that conversation.
