  • “Intergenerational Month reminds me how much we can learn from one another across generations.” Sandra, a P&C underwriting analyst, is grateful for the different life experiences that come from shared experiences across generations. “I’ve seen how perspectives from different generations strengthen my work and my connections, especially once we shifted to a hybrid work environment. I truly missed those simple hallway interactions.” That’s when she leaned further into business resource groups (BRGs) to stay connected. She coordinated programs across multiple BRGs, helping make it easier to network in a way that fits business needs and how employees like to connect. To Sandra, the best part is growing while connecting across generations: “There’s always a way to connect!” Connect with us today! https://lnkd.in/gEkv3Ru9

One million meals. One powerful day of community. We were proud to team up with the Atlanta Hawks for the sixth Million Meal Pack at State Farm Arena, bringing volunteers together to help combat food insecurity across Metro Atlanta. Thank you to everyone who gave their time, and showed what’s possible when a community shows up for its neighbors.

  • "Recognizing Intergenerational Month is important to help us look at what is evolving and think about how we can help support others through those changes." Bob, an administrative services manager, reflects on why Intergenerational Month matters, and why the connections between generations of employees have shaped his career. "Learning from others is essential. The advice I received from tenured individuals helped smooth transitions and got me up to speed quicker. "I've tried to pay it forward, whether onboarding new employees or mentoring others." He's also experienced first-hand how the organization supports employees through life's toughest moments. "In 2020, I tore my rotator cuff, which required two surgeries and time away from work. The support and ease of using our medical and wellness benefits gave me peace of mind during an extremely stressful time." For Bob, connection is the constant: learning from others, mentoring others, and leaning on support when life happens. Join an organization built on support: https://lnkd.in/gEkv3Ru9

  • Being a good neighbor means showing up for our communities. This September, State Farm celebrates Good Neighbor Month by bringing employees, agents and community members together through volunteerism and service. From packing meals to strengthening food security, disaster preparedness, education, housing and other community needs, the good neighbor spirit extends far beyond a single day or month. Last fall, State Farm employees, agents and volunteers helped pack 2.3 million meals and participated in approximately 300 volunteer events nationwide. This year, that spirit of service continues. • Illinois is experiencing a significant year for severe weather. Through July, State Farm customers in Illinois filed more home and auto catastrophe claims than customers in any other state, putting Illinois on pace for its highest catastrophe claim volume in a decade. Behind those numbers are Illinois families and communities dealing with damaged homes, damaged vehicles and disrupted lives. See more on the State Farm Blog https://lnkd.in/ecF3SRnz

  • “Intergenerational Month means I get to intentionally honor the multiple generations that make up the workforce at State Farm.” Khadijah, a supervisor in Enterprise Business Services, believes strong teams are built when every generation is seen, respected, and supported. “As a mother of five, from kindergarten through college, I know how essential it is to meet people where they are and bring them into the work in meaningful ways.” That’s why she values collaboration across generations. “We’re stronger together when we collaborate across generations.” Explore a career with a company who values an intergenerational workforce: https://lnkd.in/gEkv3Ru9

  • What can 20 years of animal collision data teach us about making roads safer? State Farm has studied animal-vehicle collisions for two decades to better understand the risks drivers face. Now, that experience can help inform solutions. Wildlife crossings – overpasses, underpasses and fencing – are already demonstrating how infrastructure can help reduce collisions and provide safer passage for wildlife. Learn why State Farm supports continued investment in the federal Wildlife Crossing Program and how putting data and experience to work can help create safer roads for everyone. https://lnkd.in/eEEYgcxc
