They say it takes a village to raise a child. We believe it also takes a village to save one. As federal funding for legal services for unaccompanied children has been slashed, 130 children are relying on The Immigration Project for continued trusted legal support. We made a commitment to stand beside these children every step of the way, but we can't do it alone. 💙 Help us keep our promise. Your donation helps ensure that children facing the immigration system have the reliable guidance, advocacy, and support they deserve. Donate today and be part of that village. https://lnkd.in/gQk6wpku

Happy Mental Health Awareness Month! Here at TIP, we promote mental health through services like 1:1 therapy, statement support, and support groups facilitated by a provisionally licensed bilingual therapist. All of our mental health services are trauma focused and aim to support our immigrant community by providing safe spaces to process. Therapeutic modalities include but are not limited to cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), emotion-focused therapy (EFT), EMDR, solution-focused therapy, mindfulness-based therapy, and more. There is much healing that can happen through the practice of empathy and compassion. Need support or want to learn more about our mental health services? Contact us at 309-829-8703

On January 7th, an ICE agent fatally took the life of a woman in Minneapolis, Minnesota. This unfortunate tragedy is just a continuation of the senseless violence inflicted by ICE across the nation. In September of last year, a similar event in Chicago occurred where a man was shot and killed by an ICE agent after dropping his children off from school. Incidents of ICE indiscriminately raiding apartments, tear-gassing school children, and running over protesters demonstrate the abuse of power by the current administration. The Immigration Project stands in solidarity with the people of Minneapolis and other communities that are being affected by the unethical use of militarized force against those that live there. No one should feel unsafe or be subjected to unnecessary acts of violence by those who are supposed to protect and serve their community. Now more than ever, we need to come together not only as a community, but a country to take a stand against the injustices that are being enacted on our fellow neighbors. We must continue to have hope, and to strive for a better future for our country. We will get through this together.
