Allen College students just got 4x the simulation lab space to prepare for careers in nursing and health sciences — inside the newly expanded McElroy Hall. The 8,000-square-foot addition includes four medical/surgical simulation rooms, four clinic simulation rooms, a home health space and a nurses' station with debriefing rooms, plus new classrooms and student study spaces. Madison and Cedar Rapids, two communities served by UnityPoint Health, earned spots on Indeed's inaugural Best Cities for Work list. UnityPoint Health – St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids celebrated the completion of its $25 million Nassif Heart & Vascular Center expansion. The upgraded facility brings increased procedural capacity, enhanced imaging and a state-of-the-art hybrid operating room to our region. To extend that life-saving impact beyond hospital walls, St. Luke's Health Care Foundation also awarded nearly 50 AEDs to local schools, churches and nonprofits — bringing its Heart Saver Grant total to 100 community AEDs awarded since 2022.
